I do like my straps but the buckle on one of the strap I have did not sing to me. It is not the quality but rather the finish of the buckle. It was neither polished or brushed but it looks jaded (?). Anyway I decided to do something about it. I decided to give the buckle a brushed finish.
It is not as difficult as it sounds. Patience, a steady hand, that green thing you use to clean pots in your kitchen and the buckle.
The buckle in question. You can see that it is neither polished nor brushed. Oh, i removed (photoshop) the logo on the buckle.

If you worry about getting the strap dirty, you can always tape up the strap. I did not. You can see that the lower half of the buckle is already having the brushed finish.

The top half of the buckle is now brushed. Only the centre portion (where the tang sits) is still 'polished'.
