Grey Import Rolex - How Safe to buy?
« on: December 16, 2010, 05:04:35 PM »
OK. i have been to the service centre , checked out the authorised dealers given by them.

only 1 shop sells pre owned.

i found a few other shops that are not authorised dealers.

one of them has a new old stock Sea Dweller 4000ft , i was told D Series 2005.  I was told it is complete, but I did not see the entire package yet.

he also has about 15 used Sea Dwellers 4000ft in the shop.

I called up the service centre and they told me I need to buy the watch and bring it to them to verify.

What do you all think? Have anybody bought a watch from a non AD before? i am inclined to the NOS unit.

I am a newbie, so i really need to find out as much as possible as this is not a cheap purchase for me and i dont want to end up with a fake and money gone.

thanks guys.

Hi Hewitt,
You are always taking a risk whenever you purchase from a non-AD or from a pre-owned shop. It's a decision you have to make for yourself.

Agree with Danny.
If you have so much worries and doubts then save up and buy from AD.

Some shops do agree to meet in RSC and you pay for the authentication. So if everything pass then you buy the watch.

AD would be my first choice, but the prob is i cant find any AD selling the SD now, which is not surprising.  :-[

if anybody knows which AD still have the Sea Dweller, do let me know and i will go there right away.

will ask about meetin at RSC

this is from what i was told from the RSC in Jakarta

1. if the watch is original, free of charge.

2. if fake they will charge about USD100 plus minus

takes about 20 minutes to check everything i was told.
