Schaumburg AQM II 2000 - Any opinion?
« on: December 07, 2010, 08:37:36 PM »
Had my first visit to the [no mention of AD name - MOD] in Pavilion today. Of all the German/Russian watches available, the one that got my attention the most (of course apart from the Azimuth's Mr. Roboto  ;D) was this watch.

Further information could be obtained here:

http://www.schaumburgwatch.com/uk/aquamatic-zwei.html

So does anyone else have any experience with this particular model, or with the brand in general? I know Danny had made a review of his Gnomonik a while ago, but that I think is a different ball game altogether, though we can view the brand positively on the basis of that review.

Any view/input is thus very much appreciated.

P/S - The one I saw was with the carbon strap, not the SS bracelet.

You mean the private manufacturers of the so-called diver watches, such as, to name a few, these?

Helson

Zixen

Deep Blue

Ocean 7

CWC

Precista

Squale

I would not say that the CWC and Precista are so-called diver watches. The two brands have long history with the Royal Navy and the SBS.

Hobbit, I was actually referring to chrisyen's statement that the AQM II's case are the same with many other brands. So I just looked around and tried to find the said similarities in the case design as mentioned by him to ascertain the truth or otherwise. It's up to chrisyen to confirm.

Some others:

Bernhardt

RLT

Debauers?

Korsbek

Alphatime

Manburg,

No worries. Pretty comprehensive list of independent watchmakers. I believe the Debaufre Triton shares the same case design as the Schaumburg.

You guys might want to read this thread too.

But I've read somewhere else also that as opposed to some of these manufacturers (who sourced their cases from China), Schaumburg manufuctured their own in Germany.

Maybe someone with the right info could verify this.

dunno about "Clone Wars", but IMHO this dial is too common looking for my taste... prefer the single hand retrolateur...

Actually nothing wrong to hv the case made in china to keep the cost low

just that every1 use same case n just change the bezel, dial, hands, crown n engrave their brand name is lack of creativity, brand essence...

Same case sane spec
2000m wr
hv
thick sapphire crystal
solid screw in case back
screw in crown
eta 2824-a2
solid bracelet
rubber strap

many brands... Some of the name above do not use this case, pls do a research

n zixen also using china made case but with alot of it's design, that's different

earlier enzo mechana 1000m with manual hv hit town, so successful...
Then many brands use the same case, some even bring down cost with miyota movement
so this is not healthy afterall
