I found these set of photographs that shows the stages involved in the making of the Panerai PAM00372 dial. Interesting to see the various steps and how it gets made.
I guess the lower plate is made of brass? The markers are actually engraved in the lower plate.
The finished plate. I guess all the excess materials is removed and the surface treated?
The markers are filled with SuperLumiNova Material. It would have been easier just to paint the the lower plate with SLN but I guess having the markers engraved and filled makes the SLN used thicker, making it brighter.
The top of the dial. This is what we see.
The legends is engraved.
The legends is painted.
The upper plate ready to be sandwich with the lower plate.
The finished product.
These pictures have been shamelessly borrowed from the Internet. Thank you to who ever took these sets of photograph.
