GUB Glashutte spezimatic n 70.3 HW
« on: August 23, 2013, 09:20:38 AM »
Running great time for a rather "spartan" looking movement. Years before Swatch.
1. 70.3 HW glashutte.

2. Glashutte spezimatic

Movement quite spartan looking but it gets the job done. The 70.3 has a bit finer outer finish than the spezimatic. Still under very affordable price range.

Very nice.

I'd read somewhere before, GUB is a company Germany come up with during WWII, and they took over watch companies in Glashutte province and force them to mass produce watches. Lange is one of the company. So if not mistaken, if one know what to look for, he can actually find a Lange made GUB, and that is the most affordable way to afford timepiece made my A Lange.

Thx bezelnut,
Those lange GUBs are rarely seen being sold. They have such fantastic decorated movement as oppose to the ones above. Google- GUB lange cal. 28 and you will see the big difference. Wish I have one for collection.

Yeah, they are very beautiful. Not "bling" decorated as today's offering, but the bridge design is so harmoniously balance.

Actually I only know such watch exist, but thanks to you now I know they are cal 28. Thanks for the info.

Bookmarked. Thanks.

Only 21K pieces ever made, so shouldn't be really that rare actually. As a comparison, on 2K pieces of El-primero A386 ever made. I could be wrong thou.

I think they are perfect at 34mm. Actually that's exactly how vintage watch should look.

Now for a wrist shot on the Glashutte 70.3 HW just for comparison... A 36mm case. Photo somehow did not really show the correct "gold" colour. the watch has actually great yellowish gold on the dail and the case. Dail is yellow gold with nice sunburst. Hour markers are actually groove line in gold colour.

Equally good.

My preference go with the 1st one, probably because I like black strap.
