Title: Rolex 16238
Post by: rolexboi on January 26, 2018, 12:52:48 PM
Hi everyone,

I have inherited a Rolex Datejust 16238, full gold and champagne dial (like president but no day, too old for my age but trying not to waste it). Anyone has any suitable suggestion to change the bracelet to leather to try to make it younger? :P

Thanks,
Boi

A decent thin crocodile skin leather black color strap will be a perfect match to gold watch

Hi @rolexboi bro. My only black crocodile skin strap is bought from Rolex and it is the original strap for my Cellini. I don't know where to get it other than Rolex.

Sorry bro I could not help on this.

I have an original Rolex crocodile strap that fitted to my previous 16018, 36mm should fit yours too. If you are interested, please pm me.

How would you choose between tang buckle and clasp?

Lucky guy

Gold is gradually coming back in trend ... this may sound odd but try putting on a dark green leather strap.  IMHO, an awesome modern combination.

I think any 20mm strap would fit the watch. I have a vintage strap installed on my 18238 and it works well.

I have bought straps from https://www.hirschstraps.com/collections/leather-hirsch-straps and I have also bought from https://www.rios1931shop.com/storepage1879216.aspx. They are both a good alternative to the OEM straps from the major watch manufacturers. Good luck and congratulations on the watch.
