God... I ask for your forgiveness
« on: March 11, 2011, 08:27:32 PM »
For I have SINNed...  ;D
Arrived today.

I thought Sinn U1 came standard with the large deployant?
But, luckily its still sturdily built.
Man, it's time I practice one in one out.
Some watches not getting enough wrist time and I doubt will get any in the future...
More so since the arrival of this tank!!
Got one more coming in Monday....

cool watch!!! i think the SDR looks better than the standard U1 the more i look at it.

looks like Dennis have a companion now  :Laughing_on_floor:

about the clasp, you can choose either when you buy it from them. if your wrist is small the small butterfly clasp actually fits better.

yes..another SINNer  remember to rough it out and show your watch it's new home by bringing it up to the top of mount kinabalu for a panoramic view

thanks for all the compliments
I'm actually surprised at the look of this 44mm behemoth look on my small wrist.
It doesn't look awkward at all...
And yes this will be THE watch that will follow me up the Mount Kinabalu trail next month!!  :Dancing_banana:

@TheHobbit
Come come... we can all sport our Sinns and go commit REAL sins at Nightclubs :Laughing_on_floor:
Jokes aside, I really wanna see in person your Sinn U1 with the yellow dial. Damn striking!!!

And, last night after I sized up the Sinn rubber strap and wear it to work... I find the strap abit on the loose side... so I cut off one more portion of the strap and it become..... TOO TIGHT!!!  :HammerHead:
Itchy butt punya pasal and now I have the watch on a cheapo nylon strap while I get a replacement... great... just greeeeaaaattt....

Hahahaha that is why I don't use the original straps with most of my watches as I have an odd size wrist. My Sinn rubber strap is still uncut.

Yeah will vist BKI on day. Have been there a few times (for work) and have many great friends there. Food is great as are the people.

What I'm about to say is purely my own opinion...
I think that the Sinn Tegimented Technology is a load of BS...
I bought a new Sinn Tegimented Deployant with a new Rubber strap coz I wrecked the old one and have been wearing it since.
Sometimes I pair the rubber strap and deployant with my Damasko DC67 as it fits perfectly.
Today, I was on my Sinn U1 on Rubber and the Tegimented Deployant while bringing the kids out for a day out of swimming.
I wore the watch as it was a dive watch and I'm sure it will survive the pool...
After swimming, I realize that the Tegimented Deployant is scratched... wth... so much for tegimented scratch-proof harder than normal stainless steel... :HammerHead:
Comparing with my Damasko... I have purposely tried to scratch it with a screwdriver and after wiping with a cloth, it's still spotless like new...
Ice-Hardened 1 - Tegimented 0

I dont think the deployment clasp is tegimented steel. A lot of other people complained of the clasp being scratched and after checking it, said that the clasp was not tegimented. Dont know how true it is as i dont own a U1 myself.

From my understanding the Tegiment process makes the surface many many times harder as compared to standard 316L stainless steel. As such, I believe it is still prone to scratches as can be seen in many Sinn U1 with scratched bezel in the wild.

It is the same notion that sapphire crystal will not scratch. It can be scratched, just more difficult.

I will take a pic when I have the time.
Tegimented deployant and non tegimented can be differentiated by an etched logo on the clasp...

I think you are talking about the 'underlined inverted triangle inside a circle' mark?. Sadly it is not on all clasps and bracelet that are tegimented. Sinn does makes clasps and bracelet that are pre-marked with the triangle then tegimented. But they also take existing stock and have it tegimented and these items will not be marked. From my readings and understanding, Sinn makes the tegiment clasp and bracelet in batches of 6.
