General Discussion - Modern Watches / Re: How many watches in a rotation or collection?
« Last post by Rex on October 02, 2022, 05:08:35 PM »

Thinking about it some more, the idea of consolidating a collection of over 10 pieces to around 3-5 pieces is beginning to sound harder than it seems. The worry is remorse after selling and not being able to reacquire them again at the right price.

I think 7-10 will be fine.
5 should be worn on regular days of the week and others for special occasions but everyday is a special day, LOL

I try not to have special occasion watches. Every day is a special day isn't it? I would prefer to look at them as tool or leisure wear. Eg. wearing an all steel watch when doing rough work or daily use and then semi-gold or full gold for dinner or leisure times.
Everyday is a special day, Smiles

General Discussion - Modern Watches / Rolex Datejust 41 Waitlist
« Last post by fs2625 on October 02, 2022, 04:30:45 PM »
Hi all,

I may be interested to put my name down on the waitlist for either a blue or mint green datejust 41 and wanted to know what has your experience been like with the waitlist and dealing with the Rolex AD. I've been hearing and reading stories of years of waiting and sometimes even having to buy other watches from your SA to get the watch that you want

Just wanted some thoughts and experiences from anyone who is currently on the waitlist/interest list or has successfully bought a datejust 41 recently from an AD. Trying my best to gain better context on what to expect and if I should even consider trying as it seems like a dream to be able to get the piece that you want

And I'd rather not resort to purchasing from the grey market as I'd much prefer to purchase the watch at retail

Do share you thoughts, I'd love to hear and learn from everyone

Oh and while we're at it, do vote and let me know which colour is your favourite between the two! Thanks!
