Hey Bro , i manage equities and commodities index myself .
My advise is to stay away from the market for now as europe is already screw up, Eg Greece, Italy and more to come . Investor are pulling out everywhere. If you are looking at US market Nasdaq has some good stocks to look at .
Cheers..

Hi bro , if you are a long term investor just keep and wait till the market goes back up , Selling now perhaps you will lose a little or more depending on what stocks you hold now . As for myself i just keep and see how will europe react later on..

Yes Bro , if you speculate just cut loss but if you are a long term investor just keep and wait lo..
Guys , dont play futures or indexes , these are two main killers and not for the fainted heart. I have seen in Hong kong People losing 10-20 mil a day just speculating on indexes .
Just my 2 cents opinion. :)
have a good day guys .

i feel that another crisis might coming soon. if got money prepare it and go in the market when it is the lowest point.
p/s: actually when is the lowest point we also cant predict. maybe is need a feeling (like bet in casino).
-
Ya, similar to gambling, ie take risk.
But buying share/unit trusts is a calculated "gambling". One never knows if the stock will be up or down.
-
tt is a rumours each yr in may, sell in may and go away. i also hav rumours for myslf, watch in may .. ;D ;Dand go away
-
How about REIT? Good to invest?
yes. its quite safe and not so volatile of the price. i tried b4 ,return quite ok . one word, better thn FD

I was in hkg some weeks ago. Met a friend who has a good network of highly affluent people. Most of them believe in feng shui. The masters have predicted that the storm will come Sept and gets worst. Not just one master but all the few top masters all said the same thing. With Europe not out of the woods, India and China slowing down plus property bubbles in Asia..I say cash is king.
-
look like many people think that the crisis will coming soon. hopefully this time wont kill too much people.
-
looking at the technical charts, yes, i think the klse is gonna do a humpty dumpty soon
-
anyone into futures options and emerging markets indices?
-
As previously Bursa Malaysia was known as the "Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange" (and in Malay it is "KLSE, Bursa Saham Kuala Lumpur"). Bursa Malaysia operates a fully integrated exchange, offering the complete range of exchange related services including trading. :)

If the time horizon is one year Im out. =)
Who puts money in the stock market hoping for a high probablity of showing results in 1 year? Make this a 20 year game, and Im in

While i agree Stock market is long term, you still do not want to buy right before a crash, or at the peak. YOu can't time the market, but if it is obviously over valued or nearing a correction, perhaps its better to wait it out.
Having said that, what is a good investment now as of 2H of 2018? Most markets are at or close to their peak. MGS was doing okay as yield came up after the election due to some panic selling, and has since recovered somewhat. Yield is inversely proportional to price. Bull market already that many years.
Gold is pretty high in MYR terms due to it being priced in USD. And USD is strong at the moment.
Alternative investments like watches/art/what else?
-
Yes. Stock market is for long term. Those who do daily monitoring considered gambling. That,s my personal point of view. Alternatively can opt for unit trust.
-
It all depends on the stock you purchased. For instance, DRBHcom went up from 0.80 to 2.00+ despite general market down in this period
-
So hey....anybody hopped onto the GameStop band wagon here? ;D
-
Another great opportunity for this year after the pandemic, many stocks in discounted price. Diversify the investment for better growth.

Thats the very definition of gambling. 8)

I see my cousin as a guru when it comes to the stock market and shares. I should have paid more attention when he was explaining to us.
-
Do people understand that nothing is made on the stock market? For someone to win big, someone or many has to lose a lot...
-
the very premise of this conversation is pointing towards "speculation" - which is the #1 no-no for stock investments.
