Nice photos, Danny ;)

i think even point and shot can take ppl straight from the face...if have the techniques and balls bigger can dy :D

most important, if ppl complaint and ask why...either explain it or delete the photo lo... in your case using film a bit susah la :D

Nice shots, Scott & Danny. I agree that point-and-shoot is good enough when taking streets shots especially when u shoot it in black & white. It somehow simplifies the whole scene... really nice ...

Count me in if anyone is organizing a photo shoot.

Scott,
Can't wait to test your Nokton 50mm f1.1.
Do remember to bring it along when we next meet.

Sure Danny ;) But i haven't got the Nokton 50mm f1.1 but a very old vintage Canon 50mm F/1.2 LTM instead ;) I like the canon over Nokton mainly because the creamy bokeh and smoother skin (very vintage look) when wide open ;) Will share it when we meet next time ;)

Nice. Always wanted to know what Lomo photos would look like, now I know. Lomo very big in Taiwan.

Hi Hobbit,
Strictly speaking the pics that I posted are not very representative of lomography (despite the use of Lomo LC-A+ camera). Lomography pics usually show high saturation and out of this world colors due to the use of transparency films which are then cross-processed.

I simply used the LC-A+ camera for its compact size and point+shoot capability which makes it convenient for the purpose.

Danny: Nice street lomos u've got there, mind sharing what film did u used?

Hi ballaviator,
Nice pic of the Dragon Inn. I used the Fujifilm Natura 1600. It's a wonderful high speed film. However it's a bit pricey at RM35 a roll.

Nice shots, Scott & Danny. I agree that point-and-shoot is good enough when taking streets shots especially when u shoot it in black & white. It somehow simplifies the whole scene... really nice ...

Hi Alvin,
I did not use B&W film for these pics. Instead I used Fujifilm's Natura 1600 which is a high speed color film and scanned the negatives into digital format with the Canon FS4000 film scanner. Rather than use B&W film I prefer converting color images into monochrome using software which provide a lot more options and flexibility.

Hi Scott,
The vintage Canon lens sounds very interesting. Look forward to trying it next time.

What new cam is that?
The first picture looks very grainy. Using ISO 1600 film?

Hi,

Thanks for the feedbacks

My new cam is a leica m6..  :Laughing_on_floor:

These series are shot with different cams, namely nikon fm2, f801 and leica m6 with various  lens.

The films are self developed and self scanned on my own flatbed scanner

Hahahaha it is nice to see that the Nikon F801 is still being used. I had one of this until it gave up on me. Still have a much battered, but loved FM. Now the M6 is a different beast altogether.

The f801 is a darn good camera apart from the weight which makes it a feel like a solid chunk of plastic brick, it is fast and accurate i usually keep it underneath my car with a kit lens for spontaneous street shots which can happen anytime of the day. I do have an FM too in a user condition, thinking of repainting it. M6 is different as it is smaller lighter and more compact, however, it may be practically viewed or feel as a 'luxury' camera instead of a tool camera that can survive in any harsh condition.

Btw, most films i use are ASA 400 namely the kodak triX, ilford delta 400, Pan 400 and sometimes lucky films pushed to ASA 400.

Thanks. I'm thinking to get a Zeiss Ikon but still hesitate because not sure if I want to develop film myself ;)

Wow, self developed film in these days are a rarity as most peeps are gearing towards the digital era. It's good to know there are people still using film. I used mostly ASA 100 film for general photography and sometimes up to ASA 400 or 800 for night shots.
Currently am experimenting with K10D as this body is backward compatible with most of my SLR lenses.

Some "old" film pictures taken at Genting and Phuket.

Developing flims are fun, you can't really get the feel of the pic if u use digital, that's why most people use films, black and white pics are meant to be self developed to obtain the best control over tones and grain

Leica M9? Sweet!

I have always lusted for a Leica  M but out of reach. The Fuji X10 will be available
in 1 or 2 month time . It has the leica look, manual zoom and fast lens. The best thing
is it will be less than 2K. Have a look at the video.

Hi ballaviator,
I like the gritty look of your B&W pictures.
The M6 is a very nice piece of equipment. Congrats.

Scott,
Nice pics. How was the roti kosong? ;-)
