Panerai- Preloved Value Dropping fast
« on: December 16, 2019, 12:00:58 PM »
Just wondering...am searching for Panerai for the past few years...it seems the value has dropped tremendously

for example a used PAM 422 used to trade ard 22-24k, recently i saw in the teens only.

what happened to Panerai?

There are potentially quite a few reasons for that:

- There are way too many similar-looking PAMs out there nowadays.

- Demand has dropped. The big watch is out and smaller sport watches are in vogue right now. While there are definitely still many PAM fans out there, my observation is that buyers are now looking at smaller, more conservatively-sized pieces right now. 40mm is the new 44mm.

- The market isn't as good right now. PAMs are less desirable than the staple Rolex subs or PP Nauts and PAM owners are ready to lower their prices to sell theirs.

Hopefully the bronze submersibles start popping up for reasonable prices.

2nd hand value of pams have definitely dropped.

I reckon it has to be done with multifactorials reasons, good news for genuine watch collector who has been wanting to add one onto their collection, the flip side sad news for owners whom are looking to resale theirs :(

Sad but true. Used watch dealers now reluctant to buy in your Pam unless it’s a trade in.
And if they ready to buy in, their quote is pathetic.

I am almost a recovered watchaholic, but last checked shows only 70% recovered. How?

Good to buy more Panerai indeed and expand the collection.  I haven't seen many listed on classified section recently though. I guess everyone is holding onto their Pam's.  :Laughing_on_floor:
