Rolex sports model
« on: November 30, 2019, 09:01:11 AM »
Hi guys, i know the Rolex waiting list thingy is long...
But are there any ways for me to write my name on the list and they will take it seriously?

Or to simplify my question, what are the steps to buy a subby or a gmt from an AD or boutique?

Thanks a bunch

Pretty sure this is answered already - a good relationship with the AD and good purchase history.

No way for a SS model unless a VIP customer. I had been the AD, only precious Rolex available.

Can always refer to the "Waiting List" thread. What is required to be taken seriously is stated there. If you do not have the money to indulge, best to bite the bullet and buy from a grey market dealer.

The waiting list only exists for SS non-sport model ala Datejust/OP. My friend actually managed to buy a blue DJ41 after waiting about 2 months where the AD actually called. Sub? No way in hell sadly.

Got my DJ41 after a wait of almost 3 months. This is also because I have been on the "wait" list for over a year for the Sub and decided to get the DJ41 while still waiting.
The AD did call me up once, couple of weeks before but not with the configuration that I wanted thus rejected. 2 weeks later, I got the call(again) for the DJ which I picked up.

I do still have hopes for getting the sub from the AD and would say that don't be discouraged and be patient. Unless you are willing  to pay premium.

Don't mention Sports model. Even the basic Datejust 41, 36, 31 dont even have stocks. Price will increase 5 to 7% starting year 2020.

the DJ41 is even harder to get than the typical subs.. to hit the right color dial, bezel and strap you want.. is like almost impossible

Hey guys, 2020 been a good start for me, may all be smooth sailing to everyone too. I was selling my DJ41 oyster and got a call from KL Rolex Ad yesterday that my DJ41 blue dial with jubilee bracelet has arrived. Went to pick it up. I'm very lucky I supposed. There are also 1 half gold Daytona and a full yellow gold yacht master 2 both are reserved for VIP. Price has increase. I got the DJ 41 blue dial with jubilee for 29,780.

I assume it's smooth domed bezel?

I bet it is, a fluted one is definitely above rm32k with a jubilee bracelet

Send email, drop my name and often call to check.. 6 months and nothing. At the end got to know someone and she helped me to buy a DJ41 smooth bezel.
Heard that just to buy DJ41, need to spent 100k...

100k for DJ41? got to be kidding me, unless you are talking about the DJ41mm blue dial with fluted bezel

I am working around pavilion. Since Dec 2019, I walked in few AD whenever I pass by (except during MCO) and they answered ‘No stock’. Didn’t even asking for the blue fluted bezel. Any DJ41 smooth bezel will do. At the end, managed to buy one through a friend.
If no ‘jalan’, I doubt I can get it.
For sure sport model is hot but DJ41 is not something easy to get too.

Sport and dress watch...  sometimes they look alike ...
explorer 1 vs oyster perpetual 36mm blue dial. Almost same

Why sport model so hot... haiz..
