Under rm20k watch option
« on: August 12, 2010, 08:22:08 AM »
Been a bit quiet here lately lets see what everyone has in their mind is the best watch that cost under rm20k can buy with my criteria below.  ;D

Size: 40mm-44mm
Shape: Doesnt matter
Movt: Manual wind prefered but auto is ok
Dial: Simple 3 hand with or without date. Day/Night or Moonphase is ok. Chrono ok if its THAT iconic
Case: SS or any other material is fine.
Strap or bracelet is ok
Watch must be able to purchase through local AD or frm authorized online seller.
Sports or Formal is fine as well.
80% of the time the watch will be worn in the office with shirt and occasionally in during the weekends.
It would be great that the watch can be accompanied with a good story or history behind it. :P
Only new watch not used.
Price of under rm20k is after discount (but lets not mention how much disc given)
Might not have to used up all the 20k, can be much lower as long as you think that its a good watch with the criteria.

Post pics if possible.

I will try to start the ball rolling.

MIH

Chopard LUC classic

JLC 976

Omega Moonwatch (newer ver with the display back) (Sorry its just too iconic have to include it in the list)

Grand Seiko manual wind. No one can really fault a GS right? ;D

Thats all i can think of right now, looking forward on what the members can come up with.

Hahahah, u know me... I am looking around... for GS... but no definitely dead line and model :)

For that 1 in question, it is quite a popular model then and now tat it is off the market, it is even more desirable. For that reason and being a GS, it is easily more than rm20k. Maybe some sifu can shed some light on the price.

At this price range, not many watches are as elegant and beautiful as the Glashutte Panomatic - a cheaper alternative to Lange.  Simple, unique, classic look.  I still love that piece despite many more expensive additions.  You should check this out since you got rid of your GS, this German beauty will be a nice replacement.

That MIH really has much appeal. Once they have enough money to restore the clock, then thats it, production stops.
Will be a collectors piece in the future.
