Title: 18k gold corrosion
Post by: lowengen on February 14, 2018, 01:21:28 PM
Hi all, i have a Zenith Full Open with the 18k gold bazel, and recently i noticed it has some red spots on the bazel (18k gold), which i believe is corrosion. I never had any gold watches before, so am not sure what should i do? will it spread?

It's just oxidation of the gold. Some yellow gold will start to look warmer, almost rose gold after enough exposure.  Same with white gold turning to a "warm steel" look.

Just use a pencil eraser to rub it and it'll return to its original tone.
