Panerai PAM386 Composite Material
« on: December 28, 2010, 10:12:05 AM »
Panerai Luminor Composite PAM 386

44mm brown composite case, brown dial with Arabic numerals and luminous hour markers. Date at 3 o’clock, small seconds at 9 o’clock, 300 meter water resistance, comes with an aged leather strap with matching large composite buckle (comes with 2 straps).

I've fallen in love with her!!! Already put on waiting list in Shanghai boutique...

No idea yet on the pricing but seems to be in the range of RM30k... Is it worth it?  :o

??? ??? ???

Wow already on a wait list? The watch will be launched in SIHH 2011. So it should be in the stores mid next year?

The question of "worth' i think you only can decide and not other people.
As much as i like the design i think its too monotone. Too much brown on brown on brown.
Could use a diff strap.

No doubt the PAM 339 is a true classic but it is priced at USD15,000 coz of the the 8days movement and SE Marina Militare...

The price and availability is way beyond my reach...

True true. Last i asked at an AD, the waiting list for the Pam 339 is very long and they cannot even ensure that you will get the watch.

USD15k if you can get at retail, grey market will be at least double. All the boutiques have crazy wait list on the 339..it'll be the last modern piece with the Marina Miltare on the dial..so you can imagine why the ristis are going crazy over it.

Yes the boutiques have already taking in orders for the 386 Luminor Composite however I've been told by Officine Panerai that it could be soon (i.e. earlier than end of 2011)..but then with Panerai, you'll never know...I'm still waiting for my 412 which was supposed to be released in october!!

Hi... it seems you're a BIG Panerai fan and must be a VVIP. Do you normally get your PAMs from HKG or elsewhere? Anyway, your 360 is really a great  piece and I'm so jealous you got it at retail!!! The retail should be around USD7k right? And if not mistaken, the grey market is selling it for more than USD20k now!!!! Really unbelievable...  :o :o

Btw, the 412 is another classic with PIG dial!!!

Yeap, I'm Paneristi for sure but most definitely not their VVIPs, OP's VVIPs spend like millions USD on PAMs (I know a HK collector with every single PAMs ever made..that's like over 400 pieces now!!). I bought my 360 for HKD52,500 which is the retail in HKG. I get my pieces from mainly HK & SG (where I'm based now). For SEs so far its been from HK boutiques while for normal pieces I get from grey dealers, ADs, second hand market etc..

ZZ,

Any idea whether the 386 will be a SE/LE or just a normal range?

Do you have any idea whether the retail price in HKG compared to Shanghai? General idea, PAM312 cost about CNY54k in Shanghai.

Yeap, that many pieces...PAM21,203 and even the elusive PAM267 (6 pieces only!!!) is in his collection...that is what a VVIP is to PANERAI...people like me are so far away from even being considered a VIP ;)

I've read somewhere there is a discussion mentioning that alcohol should be avoided on the PAM339 due to the composite material. I think this is bul*s**t but still want to get some opinions if anyone heard of it?

It was discussed in at least 2 threads in Paneristi.com. While there were various views, as far as I know, nobody has dunked their 339 to prove/dispel the theory.

I for one would not want to try it on a USD15k watch just in case its true!
