Laco 45mm is here !
« on: December 17, 2010, 07:26:17 PM »
Wow on a roll this 2 days. Actually both my Seagull and Laco reach on the same day but was not in office to collect it.
Amazing, took less than 3 days from Germany to Ampang. ;D

Some spec on the watch.

Pilot 45 Type B hand winding
Ref: 861698 "Stuttgart"
Movement: ETA 2801 with second hand stop, hand winding
Case:Stainless steel case with "FL23883" engraving Ø: 45 mm, height 11 mm, waterproof up to 5 ATM, domed and anti-reflective Sapphire crystal, solid case back with engraving
Dial:numbers and figures with Superluminova C3
Hands:hands filled with Superluminova C3
Strap:brown calf leather strap with rivets and additional black leather strap

This is whats waiting at my table when i came in office this morning.

Watch box out of the FedEx box

Leather pouch

Whats inside. Watch, 2 strap. User manual.

Still protective film on the button at the strap.

Closer look of the dial. China made (i think) chemical blued hands.

Case back.

Engraving on the side.

Back of the strap.

Crown.

Lugs.

Side view of the watch.

Sits nicely on the wrist. ;D

Happy its on the wrist :Dancing_banana:

Side by side with its brother from another continent.

Well what can i say, 2 watch came at once dunno which one to wear first.
My daily SD will have to go on vacation a while now. :P

Still not yet wear the Laco but some initial thoughts.

- Strap is super stiff!

- No tools came with the watch to change strap. :-\

- Didnt come with the "roller style" strap that Laco is famous for, looks like gotta order one.

- Love the finish on the case (whats it called now? brushed? satin finished? blasted?) and makes it look smaller than polished.

- The watch winds soooo smooth, and with that crown its easy to grip.

- Using a cheap ass loop, i found except the hands, the lume on the entire watch not really evenly applied. Some look thicker than others. I even found one which has bubble.
Can anyone who has Laco comment on theirs?

Well thats it for now i guess, maybe more comments as the week go by and me rotating between the Laco and Seagull.

Can other members who have the B-dial comment the difference of theirs and mine?
I dunno how historically correct my model is but its everything i wanted. Time only and manual wind so i like it.
I know Laco owners are obsessed with being every detail historically correct so lets hear em guys

Have a great weekend everyone!

Congrats mate! How does the seconds hand sweep on yours? I think there could be a problem with mine as if it's too heavy which I was told shouldn't be the case. :P

What problem you have with urs?

So far i dont see any problem with mine. Although it may look abit "shaky" but i have seen others with miyota movt, and Chris LE and even IWC BP, the all look the same as mine.

Shaky because of low bph. For 28800 bph, it shld be smooth, provided the second hand is not too long.

ETA shouldn't be any problem. Miyota a bit shaky.

My ETA is just slight....maybe coz of the longer hands.
But this Laco takes very few winds to fully wind it. Not like the 6497 or Speedy i had before.

Yeah "shaky" is the word I would use. My 42mm Miyota was smoother than the 45mm though. I have a Ticino 47mm type A which uses a Miyota movement and the hands doesn't sweeps as smooth, however the Ticino is amazingly affordable and provides such a good value that you could see pass it.

Perhaps it's not a problem and it's just me that is a little bothered by it.  ;D

Not really heavy considering the size.
