Possesion of 73% but no goal. Something wrong.
But heck, that's football.

Well, the ball is round and can go both ways.
My guess is that the Reds may have pissed off somebody "up there", hence the loss.

My predictions :

MAN UTD vs CHELSEA  = 4-2 (if Fergie opt for young team) or 2-1 (if Fergie choose the senior/elder players)

TOTTENHAM vs LIVERPOOL  = 1-2

It is really painful to be a gooner right now.

Blackburn 4 Arsenal 3

Yeah... really "mou ngan tai"(no eye see). Change is needed. Maybe Wenger should go!

69% possesion, arsenal is dominating the game
2 own goals loosing 4-3 is jus bad luck...
Loosing 2 key players is hard...
With no luck... Wenger is having his lowest in his career

Since Fergie send in a mixed team (Carrick & Berbetov in, Cleverly out), I guess a scoreline of 3-1 is fair. I watch the whole game and my comment is that the Blues blew their many chances, especially Torres. He was playing near to his top potential, but missess a lot in front of goal, especially the open goal fiasco.

Rooney balooney from the spot kick, a painful memory similar to Terry's spot kick in the Champions League a couple years back.

Overall, both teams has its misses chances.

even a non-supporter of Man United like me have to agree and admit that Man United played like champions and deserve to be champions again this season.

MAN U 3 - 1 CHELSEA.
I enjoyed watching the game and the misses caused more excitement than the goals!  :Startled:
Rooney was unlucky, but Torres will be having nightmares for weeks to come!  :'(
BTW, Arsenal & Liverpool were terrible.  I won't be surprised if both M. Wenger & King Kenny gets the boot from their (no - nonsense, it's strictly bizz) American owners.  :Scolding:
Take care, Ciao!

"Arsenal gives Wenger vote of confidence
LONDON, Sept 21 — Arsenal are not in crisis and fully support Arsene Wenger’s efforts to turn around the club after a poor start to the season, chief executive Ivan Gazidis said yesterday."

"Arsenal had to come from behind to beat League Two (fourth division) Shrewsbury Town 3-1 at The Emirates."

"Arsenal’s terrible start to the season looked like continuing when they fell behind to James Collins’s 16th-minute header for Shrewsbury."

“It was a bit nervy because we played against a good side,” Wenger said on the club’s website (arsenal.com). “I said before the game the lower divisions have improved in the last five  years and you could see that.” - as reported by Reuters.

Hmmmm.....aren't these the usual signs that the manager is on his way out?  :Blue:
Have a nice week, Guys & Gals.

King Kenny cannot blamed the referee all the time for his team performance.
He told all the Liverpool players that they have let the club and their fans down with 2 Red cards and a huge scoreline. On the other hand, Spurs, who was beaten 3-0 in earlier matches came back strongly by performing well in their last 3 matches.

Arsenal - still rebuilding.

QPR 1-1 Aston Villa.

Rangers owned (mainly) by our Tony F, with MAS logo on their jerseys.
Villians showing Genting Casino on their jerseys.
& not to be left out, the Ref + officials with Tune Group on theirs.
Malaysia Boleh!  :Dancing_banana: :Dancing_banana: :Dancing_banana:
BTW, the final last 20 min was good football as QPR went in search for the equaliser.
Take care, Ciao!

QPR & AV match was good.
MU & Stoke City match - MU was s0-s0 only, no penetration in their attack (Chicarito was out injured, Looney was left lonely injured) as BErbetov and Owen not known for speed. At least Nani, Young was good at the wing. Valencia did well as a defender but his expertise should be in the wings.
Stoke City played robust football, (what do you expect of burly men and well-built bodies), Crouch was fouling every MU players during set-pieces and corner kicks. Lucky for him referee is "blind".
Overall score 1-1 is fair, but IMO MU played below their best slightly.

watchnewby, i'm 100% agreed with you that MU played below their usual standard of attacking football even with the return of Rio Ferdinand in the central back.

With Rooney and Chicharito injured, i hope  :Praying: Sir Alex will fully utilise his young strikers, wellbeck and macheda rather than use berbatov and owen.

I wish Sir Alex will give Macheda some games. Still remember his 1st senior goal & it was a real piece of skill and nerves.
But since the next match is a euro champ match, I think Owen and Berbetov will get the nod for their experience.
Berbetov's a good, skillful striker but he's suffering from lack of confidence at the moment - witness his miss against Stoke.  :Startled:
Hopefully, he won't need as many games as Torres to find the net & his confidence.

Yes, Sir AF should utilise the younger workhorse as his attacking machines.
Why? 1) For exposure 2) Speed 3) Opponents does not know their strength or weakness as yet.

As for the next match, which is the CL, hopefully Sir AF can find the better striking combination to sharpen MU's attacking power.

I remember in the match vs Chelsea, when Rooney set up Berbetov and his shot was saved by Cole near the line. Then in the Stoke City match, he really missed his shot.
Hopefully he can do better, if not he will be down the pecking order of Sir AF's attacking line-up.

Man U 3-3 Basel.
Wel-come-beck, Danny! This boy's good.
No wonder Berbetov & Owen are down the picking order.
2 away draws in a row for the Red Devils. Maybe a touch of over-confidence due to their excellent start this season?  :HammerHead:

Over the Blue side, Tevez's still feeling blue  :Blue:  while Mancini mood's black   & the fans are fury red!  :Scolding:
I wonder if the big "Welcome to Manchester" signboard with Tevez's pix is still up?!?   :Laughing_on_floor:

The headlines read :"Champions League Results: City sunk, United embarassed"

IMO, MU threw away a 2-0 lead, trailed 3-2 and needed an injury-time equaliser to salvage anything from the match. Two Danny Wellbeck goals gave United what would have seemed like an unassailable lead but MU blew it and was trailing 2-3 until Ashley Young's headed goal which prevented what would have been one of the greatest upsets of all time from happening.

Hope MU wake up at the next CL match.

as for the defense, i think UTD really really need to be tougher..............the boys cant just depend on Vidic forever..................

Agreed.

Ferdinand is getting old; and if Vidic is out injured, who else can MU depends on for a solid defence?

Man U 2-0 Norwich City.

Shebby Singh says,
"It's not that Man U played badly but Norwich City actually played extremely well.
Unfortunately, they tired towards the end....
The top, and more experienced, players get calmer nearer the goal while the rest just hit and hope."
I thought this he was talking about our local league as well!
BTW, I also thought there were some excellent goalkeeping over the weekend.
Special mention to Wojciech Szczesny & Tim Howard for their heroic efforts.

Man City 4-1 Aston Villa.
Liverpool 1-1Man Utd.

Wonderful display of attacking football by the Blues while the Red Devils showed their never-say-die attitude at one of the most hostile (for them & Everton) grounds ever.

Looking forward to next Sunday's REALLY BIG game - the Manchester derby! Any bets?

Aston Villa was in total chaos, Man C just nailed it......

Yes, wonderful attacking play in open game by the Red Devils.

Manchester Derby - City 1 United 0 (if AF chose his senior players like Giggs, Park, Rooney, Berbatov etc)
The score will be City 1 United 2 (if AF chose his young players like Chicarito, Welbeck, Smalling etc)

I was jumping for joy when Gerrard scored... and pissed as hell when the little chili equalized...  :Scolding:
Good game though... 1st half kinda boring... all guns blazing in the 2nd and even the last 3 minutes of stoppage time, both teams still looking for a win.
As for the Manchester Derby, I hope for an MC win with Balotelli scoring 2 and not celebrating and showing his "lansi" face as usual... then kena sent off late in the 2nd half...  :Laughing_on_floor:

I am a bit skeptical, I hope they are in top 4...

First is Red in the land, then there come the Devil, then Blue come to the rescue, and Gunners just there to protect... ;D
