Project Hommage
« on: June 14, 2019, 09:58:54 AM »
After years of dabbling with watch modifications and mainly using Seiko base watches, I found that I kept doing similar upgrades across different Seiko models using parts such as Caliber NH35/36, double-domed sapphire crystal, lumed ceramic bezel insert, etc.

Over at my watch blog, readers had been asking for years for us to do a fun homage of our own- something complete out-of-the-box without the need to seek watchsmiths' further expertise to install the parts here and there. After our latest trip to China to check out the offerings, a few of us came together and wanted to commission the following homage :

More details could be read @ https://andywristwatches.blogspot.com/2019/06/project-hommage-save-ocean-63mas.html, and we were in the midst of finalising the production stage. Some wanted the dial to read "Seikoholic" while some felt just a simple "hommage" would do. Some felt that the lumed turtle at 6 o'clock was too much, while some of us felt that too much lume was never enough.

Given that MWF has lots of watch sifus here, perhaps I could tap on your grey matters for some ideas and opinions? Any input is much appreciated

Dear fellow watch lovers, thanks for your feedback and PMs. The design has seen some further changes pursuant to the feedback, and production would take off shortly. Should be fun to see this piece in the flesh in due course
