116610LV Hulk is like a cash cow for Rolex, no way it will be discontinued, at least not in the coming years, until new design of Submariner is due.

Stories of Batman being discontinued made its rounds 1-2 months back, but then it's still on production now... so I guess same story here for Hulk, people just want to "goreng" the price upwards

Discontinuance in the near term unlikely but they may upgrade the movement and design re: SD, Deepsea etc.

Not really, hulk is one of the evergreen model. Otherwise, slight upgrade on the case or movement.

Guys/gals, what do you think would happen to the resale value of the Hulk if it were discontinued and replaced by a new Hulk? Assuming the replacement would be called the 126610LV with a new improved movement featuring Chronergy with 72 hours power reserve and a new shape like the 126710 Pepsi.

Would the 116610 Hulk appreciate or depreciate?

Rolex will do a rolex. Some will like the new but many will still idolize the old.

Take the sea dweller. The SD 43 has all the modern improvements. But the price of the short lived sd4000 is still steady.

As for the Hulk depreciating or appreciating, I think a big contributing factor goes back to how much you paid for one.  25k? 30k? 40k? 50k?

Chances are the new model will be sold at at a huge premium re: BLRO, root beer etc. High barrier to entry means less takers and that in turn should at least preserve demand for the outgoing model.

For some of us  though, the real question is what will happen with the Kermit's value...

Speaking of the Kermit, I think it's  been scaling some heights lately. Last I checked it was touching 50k. Has it exceeded that yet?

Kermit already surpassed the 50K mark. If you're talking about the rarer 50th Anniversary 'Flat Four' LV, it touching 60k-70k.

I don’t think Rolex has stopped producing Hulk because there are still many brand new ones for sale from gray market dealers.
