Your grail worth how many months of your salary?
Have you bought it?
If it cost half year of your salary will you still get it?
What is your maximum tolerance?
-
I also don't know how to count, once got extra money just buy to keep & wear it...

if got money, i bought. if no money, just wear whatever had lol
if want to get something i cant afford, i just look at quartz watches and grateful with my automatic :D
-
holy grail for me should not be more than 1 month, else not enough money to buy food
-
iMHO, if you have to spend 5-6 months' salary on a watch, probably you should not buy it.
-
6 months..
-

-
My salary low hahaha...
-

-
3 months salary
-
6 months :Blue:
-
I try to keep it within 1-2 months of my salary.
-
Cheapest (6k below) 1 month salary.
Expensive (12k - 15k) 3 months salary.
So far these is the max i went through.
-
So far i tried to keep my watch valued approx 1 month gross salary. Which means my watch target is in tendem with salary increment..
But.. that’s only hope, most of the time much higher than that.

About 2 months salary. But my next purchase will be around 3-4 months salary. Still holding the gun and yet to pull the trigger

I think you guys misunderstood, what I mean is your grail watch (could be the watch you dreamed of but not yet acquire though)
Some reply like 1-2 months salary is like face palm.. unless your salary is like easily 50k? or your grail watch is like 10k range?
If 1-2 month salary you would have just bought it anytime, it's not even a grail lol
-
if u really like it then buy it worth for it and feel satifacation

Quite a few times : Daytona S/S, Daytona Ceramic, Sub, Hulk, Batman.
The ones without premium : Daytona TT, Sub TT.
The ones with discounts : DJ, DD, SkyD TT, YM.
I tend to be a flipper, and I find that the premium paid could be easily-recovered when I want to flip the piece, but it only worked for the hot models though.. In any case, time is more valuable so if I could get the piece fast minus the waiting list, it's still worthwhile in my books
-
2 months should be a comfortable place to be
-
current watches don't go above 2 months salary but grail watch is about 8 times salary. haven't bought it yet :Blue:
-
Honestly, has anyone REALLY stopped after getting their GRAIL piece? I was offered my grail piece once, and I declined to take it then as I didn't want to be constrained from pursuing the hobby further. Of course, now that the grail model had since ventured into the 6-figures, I'm kicking myself for not netting it when it was still in the 5-figures :o

Good question, but it's better to be measured in how many % of your net worth. :Laughing_on_floor: :Laughing_on_floor: :Laughing_on_floor:

I don't really have a grail watch as of now but i do have a watch i'm looking to purchase if the next iteration tickles my fancy, that will cost me bout 9 months of my annual income.

Current income after deduct this and that..
still Need 18 month i only can have it ... :o
-
Mine was 3 months salary.

This is not really a dream watch question but more a question about reasonableness. The watch I really like and want to buy at the moment is one month's salary post tax - an Omega Aqua Terra 41mm.
My question is if I go two months or even three full post tax salary on a watch, is that a responsible thing to do? Full disclosure, I am 27 turning 28 soon, have no investments (property or otherwise) and mediocre levels of savings (enough for 10% down on a reasonable property if I decide to buy). Sound decision or put the money aside an focus on saving first?
-
My 1 month salary would be my gauge  Normally Id wait for yearly bonus and cop a good watch lol I usually buy 1-3 watches a year. Hoping to increase my purchase =)
-
Max 2-3 months and it has to be a Rolex.
-
Costing about 5-6 of my monthly salaries, still saving up to fulfill my wishlist. The sad part is the price seems like going up every damn week.
-
Mine cost around 1/2 to 2/3 month salary, but I have 4 of them....
