Patina on Bronze Watch
« on: August 05, 2019, 08:23:44 AM »
Has anyone wears bronze case watch everyday? Recently, i am looking at Oris Big Crown Pointer Date Bronze. I like the shiny bronze, but they'' form patina overtime, which makes it looks dull. Is there anyway to keep it new?

I am also looking at this particular model. In my opinion the patina developed on the case looks vintage in long run. One thing for sure different owner will have different patina which makes it unique. Furthermore the date pointer looks great in red.

Was looking at the 38mm model over the weekend, date pointer in white colour, smaller size for my wife to wear and i can also wear it from time to time as it is unisex. If i get this most likely only myself will wear it. Dilemma.

I had the same mind with you, brought my gf to test the 36mm model in green, looks a little small on my wrist. Also, I’m eyeing on the red dial one, the dial caught my eye most, however my gf doesn’t like it

You can Google how to clean patina and will find options that keep it looking like new.

Lemon juice helps, some uses tomato, some clean it with tooth paste.

I do like the patina look for my BC so it's not going near any of those anytime soon!

I have a bronze watch with me for 4 years, worn on rotation. The patina grows on me. No 2 watch will have the same patina.

Can you share some photos of your watch? Thanks in advance :)
