Have to really give credit to Seiko's spectacular inhouse movement  however, like what ckng515 had mentioned, the price is way too high even compares to some Swiss made brands  ??? on top of that, most of the models having mirror image to Rolex  :HammerHead:

But it is really very expensive, the same amount can probably buy a JLC or Rolex or GO etc.
Still, I give my thumbs-up to the Japanese for really working hard to bring their watchmaking to greater heights.

But for now, I am happy with my Seiko 5 200m Diver :)

SBGM001 is one of my favourite GS models too. However one of my Japanese colleagues already owns the watch, so that deterred me from acquiring it.
It bears a strong resemblance to the Rolex Explorer II, but if you put both of them together you'll know exactly why the GS is so highly rated amongst its relatively small group of fans.

But it is really very expensive, the same amount can probably buy a JLC or Rolex or GO etc.

If you purchase GS watches in Japan you'll find that the prices are really competitive with the better made Swiss brands such as Rolex.

There's a good unbiased review comparing the GS to the Omega Aqua Terra here.

i personally handled a SBGR023 b4,but just dont like the feel of it's bracelet,it's a bit too light for me..even it's solid bracelet.. :-\
GS produced superb movement, and we really have to salute the Japanese by always setting their own standard.
As for the price(by getting it tru internet dealer or Japan itself),i feel it's reasonable for a in house movement and hand crafted piece with fantastic accuracy, some might think it's expansive because it's Japan made but not swiss made..perhaps.
I think Credor price range is even higher than GS.
The one selling in sunway is just unacceptable.
Danny,
If let me pick between Rolex Explorer II and a SBGM001,I'll pick GS without a second thought. ;D
To me i feel Rolex is like LV for the ladies,u can easily see it anywhere..just my 2 cents.. ;)

The snowflake dial of SBGA 011 is always the one that luring me to each GS outlets. If it can have automatic movement (not spring drive), I will forego my JLC Reverso bullet for it.

Thanks for triggering my curiousity.. just realised that technically, spring drive is not classified as a mechanical watch..

But to me, as long as its without a battery or solar panel etc, its as good as mechanical watches gets..

Wonder if the official price of the GS is still approx whats stated in the attached pics?
