Like chang said, you can buy used set, just get the iron 7 & 9 for the start, normally should be quite cheap, stay away from 1 & 3, cause you really need proper posture, but the "bong" is killing, I still missed those "bong" sound. BTW, no golfers will lend you their set for practice, first thing, the beginner will damage the iron, secondly who will lend you his girlfren  :Laughing_on_floor: :Laughing_on_floor:

get some kaki together or you will lose interest very soon.
but you will need to learn to self impress as golf is competing against own.

ckmcsk is right.
A game of golf is a game where you compete against yourself. You are not competing with the other people. On a golf course, if you perform a bad hit, you can only blame yourself, cannot blame others as they are not hitting your ball.
