but then again, x10 not bad really, image quality is as good as x100 (not able to compare by downloading the file to laptop but from the LCD la)... high ISO at 3200 looks very nice.... nice noticeable at 6400 but still usable..

the macro mode improve a lot... retail around RM2100 which i think not too bad... the viewfinder provide less info, you can't see ISO, Aperture and shutter speed on the view finder if i'm not mistaken... maybe can but i might miss the setting... better go try out yourself if keen to get one ;)

Maybe worth going to EP3 since you already have some lenses for Olympus? if new camera body you might end up buying new lenses for the new body.... a lot good lenses out there for m4/3 body ;)

So, i ordered Fujifilm x10  ::)

what made me order this camera?

1. magnesium body
2. Retro design

4. better than nothing OVF
5. Fujinon lens with new OIS
6. 28-112mm f2.0-2.8 manual zoom lens
7. New EXR CMOS sensor
8. Usable high ISO

While i place order for my fujifilm X10, my wife want a Sony NEX-5N twin lens.

Received my Fujifilm X10.
Just managed to play for few minutes and need to charge the battery.

What's my first impression;
- Very Solid build. (best in P&S camera? better than some entry level DSLR i think)
- Manual zoom lens, it work better than motorized one.
- fast optical lens f/2.0 at 28mm, f/2.8 at 112mm.
- mechanical optical viewfinder, it zoom with the lens together.
- impressive high ISO performance on this tiny sensor.
- with many buttons access to basic setting, WB, AF/MF, AF-C/AE-C, AE, RAW... etc. (i found dedicated RAW button is nice, cause i normally shoot jpeg, with Medium fine, when a scene needed RAW, just with 1 button click)
- build in flash is nice for fill flash, but not strong enough for the dark. (high ISO with fill flash will do the work)
- what else?  ::) will update when i found out more.  ;D

Silverstan,
I am currently considering the 2 cameras that u mentioned
Since u say u got the x10 for urself and the sony nex-5n for your wife, i take it that te x10 is geared for pros while the nex-5n is more for beginners?
Price wise, x10 is on the cheaper side at around 2k while the nex-5n twin lens set will set you back around 3k.
I like the feel of the nex-5n... and since you say you're getting it for your wife... Am I buying a sissy camera? lol

Hi Hanz079,

don't say sony nex-5n is a sissy camera lol.
It perform really well, APS-C sensor, slim & style design.

both are different camera, i get X10 because it already packed with f/2.0-2.8 28-112mm zoom lens.
it's my carrying around camera, it's consider P&S camera.

Nex-5N is APS-C sensor, with interchangeable lenses. that's the camera my wife want, because it's 'popular' lol.
Play with my wife's NEX-5N, it really handle very well.
but one thing about NEX-5N what i don't like is, everything have to access to menu to adjust.
Overall it's still good camera.

The nex series are very versatile with a multitude of adaptors for other makes of lenses to choose from.

Tried on one 5 with a vintage Skopar lens and is very impressed with the handling experience and photo quality. The camera belongs to one of the personnel in Wotancraft. It's has very fun and quirky attributes and unique handling/operation techniques to boot  :)

If you've a very inquisitive mind and experimental streak, the nex series is very fun to play with and have quite an infinite possibilities IMHO

Still waiting to have try the Nex 7

I already locked on on the nex-5n, not too sure about it being the popular camera.
I might go ahead and gasak the macro lens as well.
The sony centre fellow was nice enough to let me try all i wanna try and needless to say, i find the camera really nice and lots of things to play with and discover.
As terrence2 said, i hope this camera can divert my attention away from more expensive ventures like watches for at least a couple of months.
Since i have zero knowledge on camera stuff, i hope this camera can jumpstart my learning process... I have read around that this is a camera for beginners but if at the hands of a pro, can produce some wonderful pics...

Was that the one you were 'playing' with at Wotancraft? The one with the unique focusing system? Really cool.

Photography is all bout the brain behind the camera, camera is just a tools.  ;D
Try search in youtube, "pro photographer cheap camera challenge"
It's fun to see how those pro use cheap camera to get good pictures.

try to read those basic photography tips online first, at least you have idea what is Aperture, Shutter, ISO. How's one related to each other.
Skip those pixel & noise comparison, it's nothing to do with photography.

Yeah, that's the one

Really cool, the way the lens focusses and how it shows on the screen. But one minor gripe about the 5 is that the lack of dedicated function buttons as most ppl have noted. But that is where the 7 comes into play.

Yeah, I realized that too, but without a camera that at least have some functions and options to play with... it's very much a point and shoot affair.
Anyway, I just picked up the nex-5n like 5 minutes ago.
Twin lens kit and I bought the macro lens as well.
