14060M going back to Non-COSC?
« on: August 20, 2010, 11:23:42 PM »
was just surfing through Rolex's official website.

found 14060M back on the site and interestingly it's a non-COSC model.

so does it mean they are going back to non-COSC?

anyone any ideas? if yes, than does it mean the COSC models' resale price would shoot up overnight?

The non date sub has been COSC since 2007, hence the COSC script on the dial.

Personally, I like the less busy non COSC dial, truer to the original 5513 dial design.

what i mean was:

the 14060M disappeared from their site for quite some time. that is why every season, there's a speculation that the watch might be discon-ed. but yet till now it's still in production and still showcased in Basel fair.

now the model is back in their site but without the COSC text again. is it a mistake or are they going back to non-COSC again?

there has always been a debate on which of the 14060 is more collectable.

is it the:

a. 14060
b. 14060M non COSC
c. 14060M COSC

the one with the highest production number is of course "a" followed by "b" and "c" respectively.

if it's being discon-ed next season, the production numbers of the COSC version would be the lowest cause it's only been here since 2007.

Any idea whether the price remained the same with COSC?This will bump up the price.

it's been COSC certified for a couple of years already.

just try googling up the photo or drop by any big AD. would definitely have a piece.

Never really into the ND version.Classic sub with the cyclops/date is the classic for collectors if you ask me

Besview, the COSC 14060M is the only version one can buy new today. It is stocked by by most retailer. Rolex raises its price ever so frequently, I am sure it is more expensive than its predecessor a few years ago.

Terrance, I fully understood your inference..

It is hard to predict if the COSC 14060M will be more collectible. People who buy the ND sub (over the 16610)  are those who are into Rolex "heritage" or history. They normally prefer an uncluttered dial reminiscent to the venerable 5513.

Dunno if Rolex has made a mistake in putting out a old image. Like you said, there has been rumors and prediction that the 14060M will be discontinued or available for sale until stock runs out.
