Regrettable Missed Opportunities
« on: June 19, 2019, 06:07:21 PM »
Mine was a Rolex Hulk which was posted for sale by a friend in Dubai for about 25k dirhams (28.5k ringgit) about 4 years ago. At that point in time, i just couldn't bear the green look of the watch. Nowadays i will always drool whenever i see one on display with its exorbitant price.

What's yours?

How about putting our name on the AD waiting list for Rolex sport models? Is it possible that they will call you up one day later? Or we don't even stand a chance because those are for the VIPs? That's what I heard, correct me if I'm wrong.

i've heard people waited for few years. very unlikely unless you're VVIP. they never have to look for buyers. good luck

Why are you regretting now when you hated the green before? For me it was that long, ugly clasp which is still long and ugly today.

The looks of the watch is one thing. The appreciation of price in the grey market is another thing. Now it's easily 50k-60k ...

I have not posted in ages.

I still have my watches. I mentioned years ago about watches as investments. This is very interesting:

see https://www.malaysiawatchforum.com/index.php?topic=15850.msg134736#msg134736

I choose the 5711 over the AP15202 my regret was not getting both

I was offered a pristine 114060 (pre-owned) via a local shop (the seller / owner is his customer) at 22,800 , around 2017. Biggest regret in life. I was 50/50 and alas the watch was gone. Regret is such a b****

I choose to buy black sub instead of hulk in my first purchased after my wife advise black is easier to match office attire.  At that moment, hulk was around rm26k.  I regretted after few months with sub black, as my initial planning was to get a hulk.  I bought my hulk after few years close to 40k.   :Scolding:

Start looking at rollie when black sub was around 25k. Pull the trigger at 36k. Regret no use. Hahaa.

Saw and nego in Osaka, below RM70k. then realised left the cash at Kyoto.
Came back the next day but ended up late. Shop closed. Flying off next day.

Until now i couldn't bear to look at the Ceramic Daytona.. maybe I'll mods my 116520LN to ceramic bezel juz to satisfy mhself. maybe..

Mine was a steel blue face Patek nautilus I was getting at Singapore at retail from the AD.

The worst part is that I had the money and the watch was within my budget and instead of buying it, I bought the AP royal oak and a Frank Muller.

That time i thought it was a smart move but now i regret it.
