Time to move to the 'light' side?
« on: October 20, 2011, 02:35:10 PM »
Maybe it is time......

The Canon 1D X sports three DIGIC processors — including dual DIGIC 5+ processors to allow for up to 12fps RAW shooting and 1080p video capture, and a dedicated DIGIC 4 for metering and AF control — an all-new 61-point AF system, an 18 megapixel full frame CMOS sensor, a new 100,000-pixel RGB Metering Sensor, a super high speed, 14fps JPEG mode, and an all new shutter with carbon fiber blades rated for 400,000 cycles.

Erm... Impressive spec sheet (although i understand none of it) ;D
Will it do wonders for photography dummies like me?
Still on a lookout for a compact-one price-non upgradeable via more moolah-do it all camera... Lol

Have you considered the Fuji X-10?

Anyway, I am on the dark side and will remain such.  ::)

I second that!

Wait for the S100 and keep ur fingers crossed that the higher iso quality betters he current S95. Both are a great tool to learn the ropes before jumping headlong into  SLRs or any interchangeable lens systems.

Another 2 to consider is the Olympus xz-1 and the soon to be released baby x-100, the fuji x-10

Fuji x100 the dark side?
Really?

takashi78,

Camera history: FM, F801, D70, D80, D300. Still have the FM and D300.

The Fuji X-100 is trying something new.
