Show us your Glashutte Original!
« on: April 26, 2014, 11:58:47 PM »
I don't have one, but I'm beginning to appreciate some of the pieces they are coming up with especially the Senator series.

Here are some pictures which I took from the AD of some of my favourite GO models.

The Panorama Date. Simple, elegant and perfect for a dress watch.

A very handsome looking Senator Observer. Unlike the other Senator line, this has a hacking second along with a 0 second reset button. The design of the dial can be traced back to Lange pocket deck watches in the earlier part of last century.

This takes the cake. The Senator Chronometer. The dial and hands are almost a perfect and faithful to the traditional deck clocks and pocket watches design. Even the design of the calibre with 0 second reset with minute detent makes this the almost perfect technical watch. This would be the 'Richard Lange' range for GO.

Well folks, show us your GOs!

as for me, GO has got 4 series for guys now:

1) Pano (something like lange 1 where the hands are placed off center)
2) Senator (classic design)
3) Seventies (TV dial with squarish casing)
4) Sixties (domed sapphire crystal and the numbering)

IMO the Pano would always be the identity of GO, while for the senator is much more low profile design), the seventies is the reviving of the squarish TV dial watches where other brand is heading this direction as well like the Vulcain nautical and latest omega speed master mark ii.

Lastly the sixties are revival and re-introduce of the vintage design where you could see similar design in other brand as well like Mediterranee and flat line series of Zeppelin. Longines recent introduction of the heritage chrono have a very similar casing but they named it the longines heritage 1973.

just my 2cents

A nice Panoreserve, with all these off center hands, big date, gangreserve and sub seconds...similar feature with the Lange 1, however AFAIK GO introduced this on 2012, far away from the 1994 Lange 1, no doubt the design is "inspired" by the Lange 1...Even the first Pano from GO is at 2000 with the debut of the PanoRetroGraph which the complexity of  the movement does not lose to the movement of Datograph:

At the same time just to check if you guys agree with the below statement?

Actually after trying it on OEM suede, I am back on the bracelet and prefer that look a lot more.   Looks great and works better here in the tropics.
