Newbie in the house
« on: April 05, 2011, 12:06:04 PM »
I stumbled into this forum recently and would like to drop a note to say hi. I've been interested in watches for several years but have not really committed to any significant purchase yet. Been reading up on some of the reviews and learning a thing or two here. Anyway long story short I think I'm ready to start my collection. Am currently eyeing the submariner, what do you guys think? Is there any other models in that range that I should also consider along? Hehe getting myself poisoned here.

Welcome to the forum!
A Sub is a damn good way to start. In that range there is lots and lots of choices.
Maybe tell us some of your criteria so we can help you out more.

Thanks for the feedback, guess I'm on the right track then. No I wasn't expecting anyone to discourage from buying a watch here  :Laughing_on_floor:

I've been eyeing the sub since 3-4 years ago, caught my eye instantly. Told myself if I were to get a rolex it had to be a sub. The other option I was considering was an omega seamaster po as it fits my budget better however after much deliberation thought it would be better to bite the bullet and get the sub. Plan to keep this for a long long time, probably pass it on to my son ( he's only 3 now, hopefully he will appreciate it ) .
