Omega Speedmaster Pro will be my choice. Looking sharp and suit both casual and formal wear.

Omega Moonwatch FTW! Should be relatively easier to get compared to the Tudor BB.

Tudor BB can get with 3 months waiting list. Still worthwhile for waiting

Was in the same shoes as you. Collection consists of casio f91w, tissot PRS516, explorer 2 and sub. Ended up getting a new tudor black bay S&G as my daily watch. Therefore would recommend the tudor black bay series. Wont go wrong with any of them.

What's a RM15k keeper in your books?
« Reply #41 on: September 25, 2019, 03:54:39 PM »
What would you recommend to a non-collector for one (that's right, one) watch that would stand the test of time (stylistically, mechanically and economically) for around RM15k? Preferably something reasonable to maintain and will hold/appreciate in value.  I do understand that likeability, aesthetics etc is subjective... I'm really interested to know your subjective opinion.

It really depends on what you are looking for.  Is it a dress watch, dive watch, racing watch, field watch, pilot watch, etc? Are you ok with pre-owned? Be more specific because for RM15k, there are a lot of watches out there.

Sorry... yes those are important questions. Not a dress watch... something for casual, rugged wear even. So likely dive/sports/racing type of form factor. Yes, I'm fine with pre-owned.

Here are some models you can explore. All new, not pre-owned.

1. IWC Pilot Collection
2. Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight
3. Tudor Pelagos
4. Breitling Superocean Heritage II
5. Oris Divers Sixty-Five Chronograph
6. Tag Heuer Carrera Calibre 16
7. Tag Heuer Aquaracer 500M
8. Omega Seamaster Diver 300 M
9. Omega Speedmaster 38mm/40mm
10. Longines HydroConquest Automatic 41mm
11. Ball Engineer Hydrocarbon Moon Navigator (check out the lume, it's insane)
12. Ball Roadmaster Marine GMT
13. Bell & Ross BR126 Sport
14. Montblanc Timewalker Chronograph

I think you should be able to find one you like among that list. Good luck.

I see a number of people are suggesting a Rolex DJ. It's a fine watch but it does not fit into the budget and furthermore, it's a dress watch. Getting one pre-owned is not impossible but good condition ones are hard to come by for that price.

If you're not into the Rolex bandwagon but willing to spend RM15k for a watch, buy something that at least comes with a warranty. Just my 2 cents worth.
