Still with the BP “Safari” while waiting for “Solo” to start. The titanium makes it effortless to wear all day long

Bought my first moonwatch yesterday.... finally. Got a super great deal for new old stock year 2007 production, but with full Omega warranty.

Dunno why I resisted for so long ... this looks simply awesome... more gorgeous than a Daytona

Oooooo a beauty and an icon indeed!!! Been wanting one for the longest time too. But the manual wind bugs me everytime. Hmmm, maybe i'll get the Speedmaster Reduced which shares most of the iconic looks.

The reduced Speedy is nice too but the look & feel of a manual moonwatch is something else all together. I now realize what they mean by saying any serious collector has to have a proper moonwatch. Oddest thing is that a new one is as cheap as an old vintage Datejust .... go figure  :o

Just my 2 cents  ;D

And it goes under the workshirt cuffs too! Who said the BP is too big for formal wear?

Is that the ref. 5002? I always thought the date wheel was white on this particular reference (black in following models) with a small separation between the date window and the outer minute marks.

Yes you are right but My watch is The Big Pilot Edition “tribute to 5002” - it’s a LE of 100 in titanium . Made to commemorate the very first one- the 5002! It’s also informally called the Big Pilot “Safari” as well when the very first prototype was worn by Chris (IwC CEO) during his Safari vacation and we begged him to make it into production and thanks to some long time collectors, it became a reality!
