Panerai PAM 438 Tuttonero or Rolex Deepsea DBlue 116660

Hi guys, so today im exited to let you know that i decided to get a new piece for my collection but im a lil bit confused on which one to get as both of these watches are beautiful and both having insane technology features. I know some of you might say why not get both of them but im deciding on getting either one of it. Maybe soon enough i'll get both haha 


I'll just make it short, here attached are the stunning pictures of those watches. Most vote wins i guess? Let me know so which one should i go with and why. Besides price please. Im ready for either one 



Beautiful Panerai PAM 438 with Ceramic case and bracelet with GMT function.



Beautiful Rolex Deepsea DBlue 116660 with the new beautiful Gradient Dial and Diving function up to 12800ft.




Both are in 44mm case size, both having different styles and both are beautiful in their own way, i hope i could get this confusion done soon as i just need some opinion on it . One with diving feature and another with GMT feature. Thanks again Members much appreciated

I have to agree! The dial is amazing! Had a chance to have a look once but getting one might takes time as its production is limited.

Without any doubt, i would go for the deepsea....good retention value, looks much better than the PAM438 and it is suitable for most(if not all) occasion - unfortunately, can't say the same for the PAM

Don't like the PAM dial and the date function don't blend in for me. Also feels like the bracelet don't suit it.

I think panerai has another gmt version with the am/pm which makes it a 'truer' gmt watch. Bcos of that my vote goes to the Rolex.

I have to say , the dial cathes the eye! Rolex boutique in Malaysia are selling at premium price around RM58k. Where as, the AD selling it around RM 53k. I hope to get a better deal soon if this is the one

Rolex do retain value in pre-owned condition especially in this model, im not going to flip it but who knows incase of emergency? Lol

Actually if PAM 438 would have the Base sandwhich dial or the SLC dial i think if would look better, it seems many paneristi had an issue with the dial but IMO it wouldn't bother me that much and i think the bracelet option is better than the PAM 441. Atleast you could change it to an OEM strap? Makes you double win

I think the one you are talking about is the PAM 233. Actually that is one nice good looking PAM but i prefer the older version of Dot dial instead of the AM/PM dial but thanks again for the suggestions/opinions! Cheers

Seems like many of the members chose DBlue over the Tuttonero. I guess i should go with DBlue instead. Now the watch hunting begins . Wish me luck on getting the best deal!

That was my opinion before too but i suggest you should have a look on the dial by personally handling the watch at an AD or Boutique. I bet it will change your perceptions. The dial do make big difference to the watch. Dont get me wrong, even i prefer the SubC LN over the SubC LV but this deepsea dblue dial is one of the most eye catching dial i've ever seen

Yes it does, not just this model but mostly Rolex sports model. Patek and Rolex have the most high resale value

Good luck! some dealers I spoke to mentioned to me that this piece is hard to buy new at retail price. I think this has become the hottest modern Rolex and some ppl manage to sell above retail.
