Vintage omega vs vintage Rolex.

I will prefer vintage Rolex , the Rolex movement is always more better than omega.

I’ve been eyeing on vintage omega as well! Beautiful watches at reasonable price!
Would agree that Rolex is the better watch but their vintage watches just cost too much

Collectible vintages have really nothing to do with performance .... people buy & collect vintages purely because of rarity, provenance, historical significance etc etc.

It's so darn common to see everyone having a Rolex nowadays ... like AA .... now everyone can fly but actually not cheap  ;D

So yes, collecting vintage Omegas is definitely worthwhile ... prices are not as crazy but also gradually climbing.

Some of the sports watches are in atm.. but other than that it's a gamble..

Just buy something you enjoy wearing .. that's all the worth you need

I guess both vintage rolex and omega is worth collecting but you must be familiar with the watch itself to prevent yourself getting a fake watch. There are more fake Rolex out there as compare to Vintage Omega Speedmaster, can't say much about Omega Constellation/Grand De Luxe, etc.

I had a vintage seamaster before. (from early 70s). My father gave it to me to wear for like 4 months.

He sold it since a friend of his make some good offer. I miss it a lot, should've just stop him from selling. Then again, I'm not into watch at that time.

vintage Omega speedmaster is really worth collecting, especially the one with tropical dial.

Some selected models are beautiful, and can rival the vintage Rolexes, IWcs, and Pateks! not to mention the price points which made it so much easier for a beginner to enter!

Agree, there are many in the secondary market. So drawn to the vintage type but not sure which one/model to collect.

Tbh i think omega from the 60s is the best esp those with 5xx movement. The movement itself is so nice looking.

IMO, omega dress watches try getting before 1970 usually better. I myself just got a Mark 40 and suits someone who can’t wear a moonwatch 42mm.

Vintage Seamaster 300 gets the vote from me, though not as popular as the Speedies (which I believe is due to the heavily marketed moon factor), to me they are much more beautiful and has a unique dial design, unlike the Speedies which look like most other chronographs with black dials

????? sea master is very famous in China, but value wise and if you are affordable, go for Rolex.

The thread is about vintage omega. This isn’t a omega vs Rolex thread

Seamasters without diving bezel look better.
Speedies are just badass in general, especially on bracelet and beaten up. but I can't say I'm a big fan.

There's no such thing as being worthy or not. If you're drawn to one, go for it. Btw, Check out the vintage seamster 300.

I don't think you'll ever go wrong with the Seamaster.

If you like wearing them then it's a great deal.

I'm not a big fan of the idea that watches are an investment.

Definitely they are worth collecting, especially those with rich history like 40s Omegas used by RAF and in WW2.
