Baselworld 2018

So, are we getting a new Datejust, or perhaps a GMT-Master ii stainless steel in Pepsi format with Jubilee bracelet? Only time could tell...

Yea, one more week to go. But don’t think we will get GMT SS model in Pepsi bezel.

Too near to the SD43, that way they can't put a premium on the SD43 so chances of your proposed 42mm Sub Red-liner is lower. They already can't sell enough of the Sub, so why re-invent the wheel? Previous, SD4k was like a nobody's child in terms of sales (yup, could get it with a discount even), and the SDC range only picked up with a premium after SD43 was launched. Having said that, it's high time that Sub gets the 3235 calibre in similar fashion as SD43 had last year.

Asked my AD about the Coke GMT s/s and they informed me that it was quite a real possibility and had started taking names for that piece.

Read from another Rolex forum that a collector was informed by his AD that D-Blue would be stopped due to low demand, so there could be some truth there. The GMT Coke is something that many would look forward too, and one of my blog readers said that he had accidentally seen an advert on this at an AD. Pretty sure that they would also update Caliber 3235 into the Sub, although don't think that the red-liner would be incorporated. Oh well, good for another few days of speculation...

Yup, the cake is out of the bag now with the S/S Pepsi GMT, and other pieces. And the original WG Pepsi GMT has gotten a new blue dial and WG GMT hand. And those slimmed down lugs on the DSSD made the piece more wearable and less on steroids now. Me likey!

Meanwhile Omega released some yawn worthy stuff which erm... made me yawn. I love Omega too, that's why i'm feeling a little disappointed.

Well, you do get that new laser-engraved wave dial and newly-redesigned helium control valve in the SM300 *yawn*
Looks like you're right, BM, it is rather yawn-worthy!

Ugh, it's just so... underwhelming.

Better than what Omega have revealed, but it's not stirring any excitement in me.

Well it's sort of a heritage piece. Look at those Rolex GMTs from the 50s and 60s and you'll see where they were heading with the design cues. Sans crown guard, etc.
