I did make a report to mudah one of it and was told that the suspicious ad has been removed.

Mudah can't afford to check through all the adverts to ensure the authenticity, although they could attempt to do so. I lost count of how many times pictures of watches in my blog were used by other sellers (genuine or otherwise) in their adverts. Tried reporting but it would just be re-inserted again. Then I started putting watermark on my pictures and I saw such action being stopped to a certain extent. Apparently, Mudah does not allow pictures with watermark to be featured in the adverts.

Oic. That's why your watch photos always have the tiny mini wording.

Don't think it will help, tomorrow he's just gonna post a double red Sea dweller for rm18k with "only COD"  :Laughing_on_floor: :Laughing_on_floor:
Mudah just don't want to ban him for some reason.

actually mudah can, just that they dont bother unless the complaint is from an official source such as microsoft reporting pirated software...this is as told to me from someone working in mudah.
as u say if they actually do not allow pics with watermarks, that would imply they actually take the time to check listings.

I think that it was more like after I inserted the watermark (of my blog page), the scammers find that it was too evident so they would just pick an easier picture off the net. After all, there're loads out there.

Sometimes I dont understand how mudah works. Got once, I posted a very old kancil for sale since my mum doesn't need it anymore. Then, mudah reported my post as too cheap. Yea maybe it's dirt cheap and much cheaper than other money sucking car agent since they jack up their prices. In the end, it got deleted.

Luckily I found a lot of interested buyers in carl#ist and sold to the first relative buyer. Not sure if it's related but sometimes I think the management need to set a stricter rules and regulations.

funny how he mentioned COD only...  :-\

Sellers can always post an item for sale as COD only. This would distract the ad checkers. When a potential buyer calls with interest, the seller will ask for a deposit to be bank-in before COD. He's not after 10,000 and he's happy with even 500.

Not only mudah, please be cautious when buying online.

My approach,
1. If its too good to be true, run!
2. Buy the seller
3. Always ask for more pictures, ensure he has the watch, i.e watch with today newspaper, set the time to 4.30 etc
4. COD
5. Only transact online if you willing to lose

Sorry if it's a stupid question but why set the time to 4.30?

Just random, you can request 10.10 1230 up to you.
Importantly is to show you he got the watch.

I have some successes from mudah and buying online in general. I always ask alot of questions on the watch and in watch collecting in general, such as watch calibre, time keeping, general automatic watch and brand knowledge etc. What I'm always looking for a seller whom is also a watch collector or a watch enthusiast. I wouldn't buy from someone who knows nothing about what he or she is selling. I guess that would filter out some scammers or sellers of stolen goods etc.

I never try eBay or Mudah.

I always purchase from Catawiki online. More than 10 times, I always can block the payment to the seller if I don't receive the item that I purchase by dropping the email to Catawiki Customer service.

Yes, if you don't receive your item within 10 days, you just need to email CS to hold the payment till such time you receive your purchase. It also has the courier company parcel tracking information updates, so both parties cannot lie too.

Tried reporting but it would just be re-inserted again.
Tell me about it. These days I prefer to just sell on Mudah.
