The Air King remains one of the cheapest entry level Rolexes available despite being deeply steeped in the company’s rich history. Whether it is worth to buy will depend on the age and aspirations of the buyer (and Budget of course!). Personally, I believe the watch will be a transitional one, as a stepping stone to beginning to explore the new buyer’s interest in the history.

The watch’s deep history will Ensure it remains in the collections of. War veterans for instance, and while it contains the familiar Rolex style of quality -it does not have any visually standout features of the modern era so I would suggest a good updated pre-owned piece may not be a bad place to start especially as it will likely keep its value in resale should you decide to upgrade later.

You may want to look at the vintage unit of AirKing 5500. A very nice and excellent piece of watch..

I think the latest design of the air king is really nice.   It's understated so will fly under the radar easily, plus you get the durability and accuracy of a Rolex mechanism.  I personally would get one if i were in the market for a new watch.

to wear or to keep? you should get something you can relate to if you wish to wear it daily. i would go for explorer if you have to compare with one of the rolex sports between the range.

I thought the 3-6-9 numerals and position is quite striking but maybe that's me. Also there was a report of the 3 & 9 having an error making the price of the batch of Rolex skyrocket for collectors.

Air king dial design is very unique and 40mm is very comfortable for daily watch.  It will sing to you if you like the design.

I would prefer the discontinued Air Kings. The current one's dial seem too busy.

If you're attracted to the dial design, go for it

I was attracted to it last year. Was considering to purchase or not.. when I return to the AD, it was sold. And during the no tax period, couldn't get it anywhere. Still can't get it anywhere now

Everyday wear would be great for daily wear. Low profile and match with formal wears.

Vintage design is better. New one is too messy I think.

Opted against one and went for a Milgauss instead this week. The Airking seemed a little confused and without an identity.

The Milgauss had more of a edge in its personality.
Difficult, difficult, lemon, difficult

Wait.. is there any AD with the milgauss in stock? Is it the green glass with blue or black dial?

Try Perth, they had this week, GV in black not the Z sadly.

I’ve only seen the Z in stock in Dubai recently, tried KL, Sing, Bangkok on work trips but nothing.

Definitely worth to buy as the retail price less than MYR25k, even some seller selling premium, i guess it is still under MYR28k.
