A star has arrived, just in time for Christmas!
« on: December 22, 2013, 09:06:00 PM »
Hi all,

Been busy with work the past few months and was looking to add a few more pieces... was on the lookout for a reputable chronograph, pilot or worldtimer... in between, 2 G-Shocks (one was given as a gift and one was acquired personally) were added to literally scratch the growing itch... the choice for a chrono was made easy and zenith's el primeros stood out from the crowd... it was then a toss between the 36,000 vph or stratos range... finally decided to head out to the ADs to check on how both would wear on my wrist and i guess the mistake i made was to have put on the stratos first and 36,000 vph second... the stratos' presence was so commanding it made the 42mm 36,000 vph look small... decided that a stratos it would be and it was time to scavenge for a good deal... browsed high and low for a couple of months and managed to get a steal of a deal for a Zenith Stratos Flyback Blashford LE!!! the superstar arrived just in time to celebrate Xmas with me... will now look forward to swap the steel bracelet for some nice leather/rubber straps as i think it would give it a sportier edge... enjoy some sneak peek of the colonel reporting for duty below:

Looks like Zenith is gaining in popularity...
Good choice if you're able to carry the 45.5mm heft, wear it in good health bro.

Thanks! Yes, Zenith is still embraceable considering its heritage and pedigree. As for the size, the first gauge was being able to swallow the G-Shock's appearance on my wrist, the confirmation came at one of the ADs when I tried the Striking 10th on. Was a close fight between the 36,000 vph and Stratos, and I guess we all know which one won...

Merry Xmas all!

I happen to have a watch each from both brands...  :Laughing_on_floor:

believe that both brands are in the midst of a renaissance mode and would be aggressively looking to launch more breakthrough models... tudor seems to be doing very well looking for inspiration from their past...
