Hey,

I have Miyota watch, but not Laco, but nothing as you describe.

I would imagine it stop a "beat" as you mentioned? either its faulty or i imagine it wrong. Best you show us a video on wha you meant.

Which model of Laco you are referring to? My Valencia is running fine so far though.

I bought a Laco Flieger with Miyota Movement as a gift. I think I have noticed this occurrence before, might be Miyota movement common issue...

Yes 44mm diameter watch. I checked online apparently it is a common problem with certain Miyota engine. However it is not a nice sight to see it skip a beat whenever i swing my arm a little harder.

It's all about the angular momentum and weight of the hands. Bigger watches tend to have longer hands (hence weight) and the angular momentum amplifies beyond the strength of certain miyota calibers.

Thanks for the sharing...makes sense and explains why beat skipping.

Good info, long hand equals heavy weight in a way.

Agree to that, longer hands brings additional weight.

I just got myself one a few days ago. Not sure about the seconds hand, I'll observe it a little bit more

So about 60 seconds ago, I saw this thread, got up from my laptop, went to get hold of my Laco, and started shaking it. The seconds hand did not stutter

I have a non-Laco tool diver thats running a Miyota 9015. Movement functions normally without this second skipping mentioned, even if shaken vigorously. Even tried dropping the watch onto a cushion, still steady.

i had a Autodromo Stradale with the Miyota 9015 several years ago.

it had a weird metallic sound from day one - didn't last 2 years.

that watch had a great design let-down by a sub par movement - but that's just my opinion.
