'Rejected' by RSC for service
« on: January 28, 2013, 12:20:18 PM »
Has this happened to anyone before?

I was on a overseas trip in San Francisco and took my Exp1 there for service as the last "recorded" official RSC service was in 1999.

Was at RSC and had the watchmaker take a look at my watch.

After 15mins he says watch does not need service, oil seems good, beat rate is good.
He did a pressure test on the case, clean it up a little and told me to come back in 1-2yrs.  ;D

Thats why i go back to this RSC even though its US prices and far away.

Good honest watchmakers and family run.

If not mistaken its the ONLY RSC in the world which is not owned by Rolex but is still recognized by Rolex.

Dear all, since I am resting in a coffee shop and having nothing to do. May I responce to this incident that takashi78 mentioned in the first post. Firstly, It will have to do with people's altitude towards life. There are people who treasure their professionalism and there are people who want to earn as much as s/he can possibly earn. Secondly, there is social welfare issues as well. If you are better taken care of by social welfare and you have faith in the system then, you are most probably going to exercise your professionalism to its fullest. Otherwise, you just have to suck up every penny you possibly can. Just my opinion. Does it help? ;)

Hi Enkidu,
Yups the dude that looks like Abe.

To me there are stuff which is worth paying more for and the trouble to go through it.

This RSC in SF is about 20-30% more than the cost in Malaysia.
But i trust them 100% with my watch that they will do a good job.
They have done so the last 2 times i used them.

While waiting outside at the reception desk.

The honest watchmaker.

In Singapore, most probably they will ask you to service the watch even thought you just want to change the scratched glass.if you don't want to service, they will not change the glass for you.but sometimes they agree to change with the condition no warranty.weird........
