Title: Auto repair
Post by: Calvin002 on February 14, 2019, 09:09:23 AM
About 7 years ago I bought my first automatic watch. It was a Swiss Army Victorinox Ground Force with a few qualities that were important to me. It had a sapphire crystal, titanium case, screw down crown, and of course was a mechanical watch that also had a viewing window on the case back. I was able to pick it up for a couple hundred dollars which fit the bill perfect for me at that time.

This watch has not had a safe queen life. It has been deep sea fishing for Wahoo in the Eastern Caribbean, had many trips out into the Pacific Northwest ocean reeling in ferocious Albacore Tuna, spent time in the waters snorkeling around Hawaii, long hikes all over multiple US states, been drug through the sand in both east and west coastal beaches of Mexico and years of hard use working out on the open waters while being underway on Coast Guard vessels, taking thousands upon thousands of hard poundings in the rough waters getting out to rescue boaters in distress. This watch has seen a lot and it still continues to tick.

But I digress.. I have been wanting something new. I wasn't sure what exactly I was looking for in a new watch. I looked and looked but couldn't find exactly what I wanted. So I thought why not just switch up my strap for a new look?

So I went out at bought a navy blue Blushark nato strap to replace my original rubber straps that have held up great all these years. I think it looks awesome and I feel like my trusted watch has been brought to new life.

Here is a before and after:
