my love for california dial... lead me to this!
« on: January 18, 2010, 09:58:46 PM »
almost forgot my order for this... its been more than a year.... suddenly today my office boy hand me a pos laju parcel!
i opened... its a wontancraft watch box... i was thinking who bought me this present? i didnt order it...

so when i open it....  :Dancing_banana: :Dancing_banana: :Dancing_banana: :Dancing_banana: :Dancing_banana: :Dancing_banana:
its a project watch i participated last yr 2008

its a project watch that can fulfill my spec

a 47mm DLC coated on a sandblasted 1950 case
thick aquarium dome crystal
california sandwich tobacco color dial
gold hour and minute hand

the case been sandblasted before dlc, u can see the contrast with the crown which was not sandblasted
i been searching for malaysia company who can do dlc... but so far cant find any... hopefully i can find it one day!

the sandwich california is something different from original...
but i was thinking this will improve the lume... (yeah... i'm some1 crazy bout good lume)

to save cost, this round i ordered a non decorated eta 6497 movement
so i choose a non see through dlc coated screw in caseback, it been specially engraved ! ( YEAH the X@ MAS.... for those who know the history )

matching this with a wontancraft strap... specially crafted

also the dlc vintage pre v buckle!

the lume is tremendous, super thick c3 lume has been reapply on the dial!
it is better than my pam111....

sit beside my rxw mm25 who has a california dial as well,
both 47mm but very different
1 polish case 1 dlc black case
1 cushion case with onion crown 1 with divers crownguard
1 wire lugs 1 screw in pin lug
1 black dial with goldish track the other with tobacco dial with white track
1 with blued hands the other with gold hands
1 with printed dial 1 with sandwich dial

conclusion - 1 for the night 1 for the day

i'm happy with the result.... worth waiting in the end....

not trying to rub salt on those who miss the pig... but i am very sure that i cant sleep tonight if i dont put this pig next to it to shoot a few photo!

scott - i'll always show u

takshi - the strap is by wontancraft not others

dennis - sandblasted plus dlc is the reason why i buy this.... we cant find any1 willing to dlc a few wtach case here

chiewata - correct ! the guy who copied my project all black... but in taiwan n china, he can find ppl to dlc

ck - yeap...dlc 47mm 1950 case, dome glass, cali dial, gold hand....u miss 1, the tobacco dial
    - nothing perfect my fren, thats why we keep on buying, i would want the cannon pinion o be taller (he should use h3 insted of h2)
    - the crown should be sandblasted as well

    - see through caseback? for what? this is a non decorated 6497 movement....
