Opinions on AP ROO Rubberclad
« on: August 04, 2018, 08:47:09 PM »
Just wanted to get all you sifus' view on AP's rubber clad in SS.

A close friend got bored of his and asked if I was keen to be the watch's second owner since he knows I have always wanted an AP ROO but couldn't pull the trigger.

I have been reading quite a bit on the watch. Design wise I think it's a beautiful watch the rubber clad bezel stands out. But from all my reading this particular model doesn't seem to be very popular and is even discontinued (not sure having it discontinued means supply is scarce so this time price has some intrinsic value or nobody likes this model). Also, the rubber seems to need some maintaining as well.

Do share your views :)

I've been in this situation before too
Was in the midst of buying new diver watch
I was so attracted by the look of roo until i tried it on my wrist and decided not to take because of its height and size
It looks beautiful but i felt weird wearing that watch on my wrist
I prefer thinner watch like submariner

Thanks for replying :)

Ya kinda stuck in a cross road :( can only pull the trigger on one so having a hard time deciding.

Just wondering why the ROO SS RC doesn't seem like a very popular model.

I agree. They do look kind of large and that was what put me off last time. I think the trend is moving towards smaller watches ( 40-44mm ) unless your wrists are like Arnold Susah-nak-eja's wrists.

The ROs are a lot slimmer and dressier. At the end, it depends on how it makes you feel.

True, trend is going bsck to smaller size.
I think panerai has done it right on big size watches
I can't accept myself wearing other big size watches. (Graham looks cool, but still not my cuppa tea )

Yup. Even Pam is moving to smaller sizes with their 38mm release.

Some say its ladies size, but i tried it on and it fits me perfectly. Finally a Pam for me.

Heard the chrono movement is pretty sensitive, diver 3 hands should be more stable.
