Greetings gentry,
Is it a wise decision to spend 2k on Green Alpinist ?

I heard already discontinued. Definitely worth to buy @ 2k and maybe this is the last pcs your seller have.

Yes and No. My opinion is that questions like this often give of the vibe of value speculation. From a watch lover point of view, yes..buy it. Specification-wise, it surely trumps some Swiss brands with an in-house case and movement, higher PR than the standard ETA. Has a cult following too. From a lay person's point of view, no. At the core of the matter, you are still spending RM2,000.00 on a Seiko. The discontinued Cocktail Time, Sumo, Monster et.al. still sell for a loss in the pre-owned market. So it depends on the aim of purchasing the Alpinist. Would I buy it if i saw it? Maybe not. Curious to try out the compass function but was not impressed by it in the Seiko Superior series.

I’d buy it only if you’ve always wanted to buy one.
I’v been looking for an Alpinist for a while now, so I’d buy it. But if its not on your bucket list, why buy at all

Go ahead if you have been thinking about it for a few months. At least you know it's not an impulsive purchase :Laughing_on_floor:

Some poison for you.
If 2k's not going to bleed you out, and you have been craving for it, go for it.
Considering the Blue Alpinist is now pushing 800usd, I think the Green one will only trend up as stocks dwindle.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190526/afc8646cd833f25c275878d771f6885b.jpg)
