Hahaha... the name preve is suppose to mean "prove" or "to prove" in spanish.
It's suppose to be a new beginning for proton... to "prove" that they can build quality cars

Not sure which segment the Preve is suppose to compete in. But I understand there will be 2 version, the sedan and the hatchback. The sedan has manual, auto and autowith turbo-assist (not sure is the term correct).

The Prevé is a C-segment car. For so many features it is really value for money. But then again, Proton's gotta work hard to gain back confidence of buyers who have moved on to Korean and Japanese cars. As for owners of continental cars, it's gonna be a hard sell. I'm not sure if I'll even buy another Proton.

My first 2 cars were protons (1988 - Saga; 1995 - Perdana), Never had problems with them. Unfortunately, my requirement for a C-segment car has already been fulfilled. Nevertheless, if Proton launchs its hybrid/electric, and the same concept of putting latest technology into the offering as what they did with Perve, I may be the market.

Further improvement is required to sustain in the global arena.

Agreed with your comment.
But No improvement, can still sustain locally.

Turbo different in what way?

You guys gotta know, this is a very light pressure turbo. Pointless to compare with anything over 200hp.

i think preve is reasonably price for the performance and the looks, of course you cant compare the car to any VW or even dual clutch cars...  simply because proton is in a league of it's own  :)

With Preve price of RM73k, realistically if we don't have the high import duty, Malaysians should easily afford Toyota Altis 2.0 or Honda Civic 2.0 at lower rate (minus the import duty)

Ive heard that the turbo lag is really bad.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. -John Lennon

My experience with eXora bold turbo is quite impressive, almost instantaneous, but accompany with lid engine and gear box noise.
