Servicing Rolex
« on: May 26, 2019, 02:25:52 PM »
Hi there everyone

I tried to resurrect an old thread which is not working so I'll start a new one

I wanted your expert opinions on whether we should be using the rolex service centre, partcularly for older models, 6694 or an older sub, or a 3rd party i.e. watch shops which we trust

The reasoning is that I hear that RSC at times recommends a certain number of parts to be changed, more importantly it might be using slightly more recent parts which literally reduces the vintage-ness of these older pieces. I am made aware that our 3rd party service centres try to find the same year/timeline to maintain this vintage-ness

Moreover, I am made aware that rolex does not sell parts to anyone anymore so I am not sure where our 3rd party shops get their parts

Any thoughts on this?
