Cleaning rose gold AP offshore 44mm
« on: December 08, 2017, 01:57:16 PM »
Hi bro,

I notice my RO has abit of oxidation on the gold case , like the colour went darker. I dare not use cape cod cause there was once i used it for my rolex matt area , i have to send it back to rolex cause it went from matt to polished.

Anyone has any idea how to clean and re-new the gold case ? btw... i did try to use some cape cod at a small area near the crown area and i think it its abit polished now and look slightly different from the original gold case grain.. :o

Any ideas are appreciated !

If the oxidization discoloration is evenly across whole case, then it's alright to leave it as it is.

Unless the discoloration is uneven and spotty.

I'd go the AP Boutique at Starhill to check if they can can advise, or at least refer someone who can. I wouldn't mess around with rose gold as the alloys used varies from model to model, from brand to brand, meaning it's not an easy fix. As a last resort, there's an AP service centre in Spore.
