One thing that IWC constantly gets under-rated on is the quality of their finishing.  It is superb.   I have an Aquatimer, and the amount of detailing - and different types of it - on the dial, the bezel and the case is simply spectacular.

Gotta see it in the hand to appreciate it.

Hmmm... Where's Sidestreaker? Im waiting for his comment...

In short, I like it.

I think they are actually listening to some of the complaints about the previous line up and made some improvements over them.

Till this date, I think the company has built a strong brand name through endorsement and events. And to this regard, the Pilot line is perhaps the most recognizable product of IWC. When we talk about luxury market, brand presence matters. These will sell like hot cakes.

My personal pick so far:

1. Little Prince BP
2. White dial Mark XVIII
3. Miramar XVIII

However, as none of the above are limited editions, I'll wait and see. If the pattern of IWC release is consistent, there will be new iterations of the new models in the subsequent months. I'd personally would like to see more dial options for the BP in the future.

Black dial mark xviii.
First impression was good but the date window is too near the centre for my liking.
Initially, I thought it was merely the designer's preference, maybe IWC, for some reason, prefer to align the date with numeral 2 and 4?
Then, further readings suggest that the selita movement is too small for the case and hence the unattractive date placement  :P

Oh ya, now I notice the date window is not even aligned with index 2 & 4.

Surprised to know they are using Selita instead of ETA this time.

40mm is a good size for many with smaller wrist. Good looking dial however the date window looks weird. How I wish they could have an option without date window...  ::)

I like the new 40mm, but not the new dial design, making it too "traditional" & conservative.

I prefer the 2016 version. It's simple yet elegant. owned an iwc 3777-04. will get the upcoming 3777!

I totally agree with you.

Mark 16 with silver dial is still my favourite in this series

Looks to me to be slowly reverting back to the mark xv design. Not a bad thing...

I do not think the 1.5mm makes much different aesthetically. However the black dial looks really classy !

its not that worth to get a mark xviii instead of pilot chrono.. Pilot chrono still the best among "budget" watches.

To be honest I'm drawn to the 36mm model. Don't you think the date placement is just off for the 40mm? I mean for this watch pricing Isn't it a serious overlook?

Wasn't too obvious at first but now that everyone has pointed it out, it is starting to look odd to me. Still I am quite attracted to the Mark XVIII LPP but am not ready to pull the trigger as of yet.

Sizes larger than 42mm is too large imho. Dress watches have to be smaller than 39mm to fit underneath a cufflink nicely. A Lange and Sohne determined the perfect dress watch to be at 38.5mm. Of course, the perfect size to me is 39mm for any occasion

I don't know about iwc, they seemed to be putting high price for their entry level. Especially in the movement, its not inhouse but the price abit high. If its about magnetisme protection, other brand like Ball also gives it plus with extra features like springlock & antishock. (This discussion only meant for their non inhouse movement watches)
