Hi ! All
this is a new brand just reach to our shores ..
is under SwXXX WaXXX GXXXXY ...
quite nice but ... a very new brand
http://www.bremont.com/home.php
what do the brothers over here do think ???? :) :) :)
-
Thanks Lola, actually it was there for sometimes already ;) Can ask Danny about it ;)
British designed, Swiss made? The price is not cheap and i think i will prefer (my personally opinion la) to buy one more rolex or panerai better... :HammerHead: sorry....
-
Cost as much as Rolex and PAM? I was thinking it is around RM8k like Ball and the gang.
-
Hi ! Scott
Means the price is like Panerai then ..
The history is not so impressive as they had just started in 2002 ...
hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
-

they're very popular in UK....and yes the prices are also "chop carrots" kind...
-
Bremont are very solid watches. The quality of finishing is very good. Having handled it, I must say that I am impressed by what I have seen so far.
Pricing is subjective. Age of the brand is also subjective. Consider this: B&R, Sarpaneva, FP Journe, FM, Franc Villa, Richard Mille, Romain Jerome just to name a few are also very young brands by watchmaking standards but are well received. Perception of the brand is an individual thing.
-
to me.. just another mushroom growth after success story of sport rugged military ... watch success from pam hublot and bell...
but for the kind of design and price... i better get pam n rolex... spend less for ball and sinn...
-
ahhh the prefered brand of the new British celebrity adventurers...
u can see Bear Grylls, Charlie Boorman and Ewan McGregor wearing it in Discovery channel.

As a point to note, Bremont design its watches for present aviation use, and not just leveraging on the past, as you see with many other brands. Pilots in the air force have good testimonial on Bremont design, but many watch collectors still frown on its reliance on generic movements.
I think it is worth following the Bremont development and see how it transform given it does not have the resources of a large watch group.
-
i think Bremont can relate more to Graham
-
Bremont - the watch Bond would wear if he was patriotic :P

If I was a professional aviator or an explorer, the only hunk of time keeping metal I'd even consider strapping on my wrist while on the job would be this:
The Breitling Emergency (http://www.breitling.com/en/emergency/)
Documented to have saved lives (example of one):
Breitling's Emergency II Doubles Down On Rescue Technology (http://tinyurl.com/pz66y5r)
Seriously, IMHO in this modern day and age of GPS and digital instrumentation, (military pilots on the job) wearing a relatively inaccurate automatic mechanical watch is all about vanity.
Regarding Bremont: Nice watches but other aviator/classic style watches are ahead on my list.
-
Not really, I think Bremont is comparable more to IWC. Bremont has a strong military link while Graham associates with motorsport (4 and 2 wheels). Bremont is still British owned while Graham is now Swiss owned - the only common factor is the British origin of both brands.

About pilots wearing a watch for vanity reasons - yes, to a certain extent. You can't doubt the coolness factor of a real military pilot who also wears a bold and engineered watch synonymous with his job. But a watch engineered to be super tough, legible (day and night) with chronometer accuracy also appeals to them. Interestingly, it was Bremont's design of the watch for ejection seat maker, Martin Baker, to meet extreme anti-shock specifications that stirred interest from the likes of F-18 hornet squadron, US Navy Test Pilot School and the B-2 Stealth Bomber squadron.

Hi @asimo bro. The antishock watch, what is antishock rating? Thanks.
-
Do anyone have the opinion that the pricing is on the high side considering the brand is relatively new?

@meoramri bro
I tried Google a bit the watch. The antimagnetic rating is at a whopping 80,000 a/m.
Still finding the antishock rating. By looking at its antimagnetic rating, the antishock could be very impressive too.

Bro, for what u get for the price .. is quite reasonable . Lots of research into the design , construction and testing ... and it's anti shock /magnetism , etc albeit the movement.
For RM13K -15K, the spec is a lot better than other more established brands in similar bracket.

I can accept the rm13k to 15 k bracket but anything more does appear stretching it. Only time will tell whether the premium is justifiable.
Anyway, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder-their pricing philosophy does appear acceptable to their customer base.

Hi All,
First post here. One of the first buy I made when I arrived in Malaysia three years ago was a Bremont Solo white 43mm (from Swiss Watch Gallery in Pavilion). I bought few straps for it (leather NATO, the temple island rubber strap, some 2 pieces leather strap) and dearly loved it for the first 18momths (in fact until I bought my Speedmaster). I still love the triple case and the lug shape but as it often happens, my taste slowly changed and I now prefer wearing watches between 39 and 42mm. So it does not have a lot of wrist time recently.
I tried the Airboss Mach 1 this week end and strangely found it too small on my 7inch wrist. The stepped bezel was not for me either.
I have included few images.

No interest for Bremont in Malaysia???
