Just browse through the pages...i'd say Big Wow!!!   :D
The PAM 312 & 320 will definitely be my next target! It looks so much better without the magnifying glass on the date!

I'm finished with these new release ! The 1950 case has been what I after. The current 1950 model are just too expensive on 212, 233, etc. Hopefully these new models are in the range of RM20K-25K, possible?

Gan190 has the same target as me, and I too dislike the cyclop.  ;D

Let's pray the price is reasonable.  ???

I'm a bit greedy, if it has dome glass then it will be a perfect  :D !!

There is a price release already if you look closer in p.com...

i think selling around Euro6.5K to Euro7.5K, so around RM30K?

btw, look at 328 (it is a 312 on bracelet) is a 1950 case on bracelet...i think it's my first time seeing 1950 with bracelet ;)

Hi guys,
Looks as if Panerai is trying to do either one of two things with the new P9000 caliber:

i) They are offering these new mid range models to close the big divide between the base models and the P2000 caliber offerings. This is good marketing strategy.

OR

ii) They are offering the P9000 as a potential substitute for the ETA movements. After all Swatch Group will no longer be selling the ETA ebauches to companies outside the group after 2010. If that is the case then you can expect the Base models to be phased out gradually as Panerai will find it increasingly hard and expensive to source for the required ETA ebauches. This can only mean one thing, ie prices for Panerai watches will be heading up.  :'(

Just my 2 cents.

Just my 2 cents.

but, i can't imagine if they price the latest model around RM20K or less then RM30K because they have to "take care" their existing model like 299, 104, 88, etc which retail around RM20K plus currently.. if the new model has the similar pricing, many people will go for the latest model for sure since they have inhouse, 1950case and sandwich dial.... just my opinion...

I think eta base model will still be around for a while until they find a better movement replacement (same price range)..or maybe a lower range inhouse movement will be introduce/developed in year 2010?

my another 2 cent  :D

Danny, that's 4 cents of yours make sense really ;)

Scott,
I personally find 104, 88 & even 90 are over priced at 21-22k list price. That's why I opted for Rolex GMT-IIC instead of 88.

Ha ha. Looks like I have to catch up on my sleep. 4 cents indeed.  :D

Alvin,
You hit the nail right on the head. Anything in the high teens and above should at least have in house movement. At the current market situation it would seem that Rolex provides the most bang for the buck as you can get a decent Air King watch with the work horse 3130 COSC certified movement for close to 10K RM.

Now if only Rolex will do something about the relatively small sizes of these watches. Let's hope the new CEO takes a more  favorable view of newer and larger case designs.

Hello Alvin, If i were you I will take the Rolex GMT-2C as compare to the 88 :)

Yeah! If you ask most of the watch lover, they will tell you those panerai models are over priced simply because they are eta or valjoux 7753/7750 (these movements are relatively huge to fit nicely in their case)...but then again, most people buying panerai mainly because it's style, design and historical reason ;) me too, my first pan is 210 ;)

paneristis have more choices now since panerai just introduced P9001 mvmt in their new model and 1950 case design looks good too ;) just the matter of price ;) maybe one day they will move toward producing all in-house watches like JLC/GP/VC/etc...now we have model called Pre-V, pre-A and later we might see something like pre-inHouse in year 2010 :) just my opinion!

The Rolex movement is very reliable for sure, I'm more interested to see more new design from Rolex, to be honest, i'm dissapointed on the DSSD....but then again, i'm sure something new will introduce this year, maybe during Basel fair in April?

Yes Scott, I bought the GMT-IIC almost a year ago after comparing with PAM 88 & others. It comes with latest ceramic bezel, solid bracelet & the blue Parachrom spring. Its accuarcy is superb at +1 sec / day. No regret at all.

The GMT II-C is currently one of Rolex's most popular models. The SS version is still commanding a premium I think.
Great choice Alvin.

Hi Gan,
That GO Sports Evo is a real beauty. I believe the ADs are giving some pretty good discounts on GO models. In fact the Swatch Group is throwing in a free strap with each purchase.

I'm personally saving up to get one of these:

My last week check with AD in KL on GMT-IIC was RM 25K, where the list is RM 21K+. Was told there is still shortage worldwide.

Alvin, I'm currently working in Dubai. As far as i understand, the market here is kinda different from Asia, in term of popularity. Like PAM is actually less as compared to Rolex and others like AP, Brequet, Chopard & etc. They do have large volume of rolex watches here in all the boutiques (at least 5 outlets) , not to say in the rest of the ADs. So far i know there are at least 3 pieces GMT IIC, and 2 pieces Deep Sea brand new available. I can get GMT IIc at about RM21K too....maybe even lower looking at this economy situation.

Danny, the GO you're looking at is really really something unique. I saw the white dial version in the boutique here, the back cyrstal case is one of its kind, like frameless glass covering the back. It's about RM23K if i remember it correctly, very very affordable!   ;)

I agree that popular Rolex models in most part of Far East are sold with premium. At least I know where else to souce now. ;)
