Both... ;) Definitely both. As you see, Rolex will never put Chronograph function in Diver watch, and Date function to Chronograph watch, that make these two watches are totally different and people simply cannot resist to own both if they can afford and appreciate.
The Daytona C in Steel is my dream watch now...

Submariner for me. Do not like the chrono function of Daytona.

I have both. In practical terms the Daytona wears better especially with formal attire

I just got myself a daytona 116520 stainless steel white dial a couple of months ago but now i really am thinking of letting it go because there's no date to it. Practically, the submariner is better because we don't really get to use the chrono often. But if you ask me the daytona looks much better and it's not what almost everyone else will wear. =)

I think first you need to know where you stand financially.
If you have a budget for a Daytona, than you can decide on either a Sub or a daytona.
But if you have only a budget for a Sub,obviously the Daytona is out of the question

submariner sportier looks .. daytona looks more mature and older feel.   just my personal opinion.

Submariner may look sportier but nevertheless old or young, people always look up to the daytona

I love the Daytonas, be it the new ones or the vintages. For sub, those appeal to me are the ones with no ceramic bezel.  This is entirely based my own perceptions .

For me it would be the Submariner.

The look is just pleasing to the eye and it is a watch you can wear for every occasion. Lets call it a daily driven watch ( for car nutters like me la)
